Japanese color scheme, red cross

JUN's F2L tricks, posted on Sinpei's blog, were one of the main inspirations for my Advanced F2L pages.

Thanks to Dude for the link. Now I need to look for things I've missed and update my site. [edit] I had almost everything already.

Wow...that's a lot of cases! Excellent camera and lighting, too...I love how the stack of cubes on the table just keeps getting bigger and bigger.

I was thrown by the Japanese color scheme at first, but after a few minutes the headache starts to wear off. :)

I'll be digging through these for awhile...thanks for posting!

I'm guessing he wanted to do the whole thing in one shot but ran out of cubes? XP

Slightly off topic: I like these videos, they're very relaxing for some odd reason :)

There was a lot of familiar material here, but some stuff popped out at me. Sharing some reconstructions I made for my own personal use:

z F' R U' R' U R' F :)

R' F R U' F' R U' R'

R U F R U R' U' F' R'

(F R U2' R' F') L' U' L

L U' L' (F R U2 R' F')

z' f R U R' B'

u R U' R' u'/D' -- I never think to use u for rotationless keyhole

R' D R U' R' D' R -- Creating a keyhole without empty slot!

R2 U' R' U R U' R -- Would not have thought of that

R' F R U F' R U' R'

U2 R' F R F' L U L' -- Note the U2 setup for sledgehammer

R F R U R' U' F' R' -- CUTE stoplight :)

R' U' R' U R2 U' R2 -- Blockbuilding piston :O (BR empty)

F R U R' F' R U R' -- FAST piston :O

R U R2' F R F' R U' R'

R B r' U' r U' R' -- Cute piston using BL empty

R U' R2' F R F' R U' R' Nice bad case 3

F' r U r' :)

Nice reconstructions. I wish all cubing videos came with optional captions composed of notation. <--- Would be amazing.

Great videos!

It's the smooth turning. It's like the cubing version of listening to ocean sounds... or something.

mind F***!!!!!!!!!!!!! just imagine the potential if you could recognize all of these in less than a second............

gotta learn some of these soon....

This is what I hate about CFOP. More algorithms, less thinking.

I admit it though, these tricks could be useful.

Hershey, I really don't consider these "algorithms". The only reason I say this is because if you can do it intuitively then it's not really an alg

Some are algs, such as the R2 U R2 U' R2, because who does that intuitively????

I think it's wise to consider 90% of these intuitive, or to at least try to see how everything works. Within many of these "algs" are sub-steps or setup moves that you might recognize, or new ones you should start thinking about.

it's not lolchester

it's called block-building. that's exactly how *anyone* who uses petrus would solve it.

R' D R U' R' D' R -- Creating a keyhole without empty slot!
CLS case! It makes sense not to believe in edge control since dot OLL cases are actually pretty damn fast these days, but you should know at least this and U'R'D'RUR'DR for skip.

R2 U' R' U R U' R -- Would not have thought of that

R U R2' F R F' R U' R'

R U' R2' F R F' R U' R' Nice bad case 3

These were some of my best finds when compiling Advanced F2L. If even you don't know these, I definitely need to keep up the advertising.
