What cube moves the fastest?

im not sure. my elite is popping everywhere now and it got outpeformed by a unlubed new guhong. im going to lube it soon but i say zhanchi. and geekygeek, what do you average?

I started cubing about 3 weeks ago and I was able to solve it about 1 week after I started with an average time of 2:00 using the beginner method. I am trying to find a tutorial online on how to solve it using the Fridrich Method but I find all of them too confusing. I average about 1:30 still with beginner. If I do get a Lubix Zhanchi or Guhong, I am going to break it in a little but I will continue using my ghost hand II. I will use my lubix cubes for competition and back up. If I like the lubix cube that much I may buy another lubix cube one for my main and one for backup.

Will the lubix cubes need to be lubricated every 4-5 months or so? How often do I need to lube it, and does additional lube come with the cubes?

My edges are ribbed, if you scroll down the page a little you can see some pictures of the core and edge pieces.

Sorry haha. Yeah, that's a Ghost Hand II. I had one of those for my first DIY and I loved it. Kind of off topic, but a great mod for that is to sand down the points on the inner side of the center pieces.

I can't recommend the ZhanChi because I've never felt one, but the GuHong is an amazing cube. I'm 100% sure no matter which one you get, it will be an upgrade from the GH II.

it'll go a LOONG time. if i were you, i would buy some traxxas, camcubers stocking it soon, like a week? idk. but its way cheaper, just as good, and has a much larger quantity. i would buy a zhanchi at sCs and some traxxas and i think if your starting you wouldnt have pop problems so you might even be able to manage a linyung. and finally, if you have the funds, i would go linyung and lubix anchors.

For people who had experience with a LUBIX Guhong and LUBIX Zhanchi before, which one do you think is better?

you say you have a GH
get a dayan guhong and remove the springs from the GH and put them into the guhong
fast turning at a tight setting
thats what i did and i never popped cause my screws were only 2 full turns away from the tightest setting and GH springs are amazingly loose
seriously try it
tell me what you think?
I never thought of that. I seriously want to try myself this now, thanks for the suggestion. Do you think this would also work with a Lunhui?

The FASTEST cube, HANDS DOWN, is the MF8 Legend. FACT. I've never felt a faster cube. None of the Dayans are as fast, although the Lingyun is the closest. And for those falling slave to the hype, saying that the Zhan Chi is the BEST cube, no way. The Gu Hong and Ling Yun are still better. The Zhan Chi has no good tension, isn't as fast, has too many weird lock ups, and is very hard to control, even at tight tensions, because for some reason, when it's tight, it still feels loose, and pieces spread apart and do weird things, but if I tighten it anymore, it's too tight, doesn't cut corners very well, and center caps go flying due to tight pieces rubbing against them. I still feel that the A5 is the best, and most reliable cube.

Yeah, I am pretty sure I was the first to discover this mod. I at least was the first with a video on it and had never seen anyone talk about it before. You can see my video on this site.

Now I'm torn between the Linghui/Guhong/Zhanchi. Not just the non-modified ones, but the modified ones from the Lubix Website. HEre are my questions about them, if you can't answer them all thats fine.
1. Which one moves the fastest?
2. Which one has the least lock ups?
3. Which is the most "clicky"?
4. Which one is the most "creamy"?

Well, not sure about the Lubix versions, but of the regular versions:

1. Lingyun, (you put Ling Hui, but that's not a cube. It's either Ling Yun, or Lun Hui. Ling Yun is better, but pops)
2. Gu Hong
3. Ling Yun or Zhan Chi
4. Gu Hong

Loosen the tension on a Guhong and dump some lube into it... Some scrambles will help it not be sluggish...

Sorry my mistake, it was a Lun Hui, Lubix doesn't offer modified Ling Yuns. I got ling yun off my list and now it is between the Ultimate Lubix Guhong and the Ultimate Lubix Zhanchi.

Since a Lubix Fusion is (I think) better than a Lubix Guhong since the Fusion is basically a Guhong with torpedos. IF the fusion is better than the Guhong, then whats better, a Fusion or a Zhanchi?
Note: All the cubes I am talking about are the LUbix Modified ones.

@Radmin -Actually, because the white Dayans are made with softer (better) plastic, it doesn't hold Lubix and other thick lubes well. It never absorbs properly, and just stays gummy. It's best to just use Maru lube on the white ones. THe black ones are fine.

@geek - You don't need torpedos in a Gu Hong, really. That's what makes me mad about the fusion. I have 4 Gu Hongs, and none of them have EVER popped. If you set the tensions properly, you'll never pop. And in my opinion, the Gu Hong KILLS the Zhan Chi. Also,in my personal opinion which is shared by others, but also not shared by others, at such a beginning level as you are, these cubes will not really help you yet. It is better to work with a cube that isn't so good and uncontrollable, to help you build skill and accuracy. Really, these types of cubes will help you more when you average 40 or below. You'll be fast enough to actually take advantage of the advantages.
