The easiest way to explain this was with a video
>>> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LosUUCJxonk

It is a picture cube with a twist... there are only 3 unique faces!!!

I will buy a colour cube and learn properly, but right now i am trying to fix this Portal 2 cube so that i can give it back to my friend... (I scrambled it with his permission, only for us both to regret it.)

Thanks for any/all your help! :D

sorry, but im a noob. please could you type out the algorithm for that? pretty please?

so do a B2 (or correct that if I'm wrong on the location of the other 2/arm edge

if i put the incomplete valve on the Front face (the arm/2 edge is in the top middle of the front face), the other arm/2 edge is on the bottom middle of the left face. the two edges that are obviously incorrect are in the top middle of the front and top middle of the right.

is this correct? now do that B2 algorithm?

thank you so much!

ok, now when i look at the unsolved Up face, the left and right columns are correct but the top mid and bottom mid need swapping...?

EDIT: i will undo that B2 move and try the L2 move thank you

Do L2 R U' R U R U R U' R' U' R2 L2.

ok, so i did that, it changed the wrong thing so i have undone it.

i am certain i did it right, perhaps i have explained wrong.

when i look at the unsolved face, the middle row, right column piece, needs to swap places with the bottom row, middle column piece on the same face.

thanks again :)

i think a picture would do, one sec

EDIT: where should i upload an image ?

EDIT 2: video almost up :)

You definitely have 1 other edge in the wrong place, most likely being one of the white edges. I'm trying to figure this out, but it's really confusing. =S

ill do one more video that very slowly gives you a tour of the sides in a more easy to follow way :)

EDIT: It is now uploading, be aware that my internet sucks and it could be fifteen minutes before it is ready, i will link you the instant it is ready :)

Thanks again for your help :D

Here's the thing, you can't swap just two edges, so people are trying to help by looking for two pieces that look the same. That will allow you to do a maneuver which *looks* like it is swapping two edges.

For instance, let's say you have ABA, but you want AAB (A's are the same, B is different). You can't just swap #2 and #3, but you can do a cycle of #1 -> #2 -> #3 -> #1, which will have the same effect. So which 3 pieces on your cube should we cycle around? (Instead of trying to describe by rows and columns, try to describe which two faces the edges touch: up/down, front/back, right/left. From your perspective.)

okay, the thing that makes it difficult, is that there are only 3 unique faces, and the ones opposite are the same. i.e. front looks the same as back, left the same as right and up same as down.

so it is really difficult to work out which is the third incorrect piece. maybe it is one that looks like it is in the right spot on the left, but it should be part of the (same) picture on the right.

here goes though:

the two that defs need to be switched are front/up and right/up.

i will try to find the third as well.

in five minutes i will post the link to a slow tour of my cube as well, so that you guys can try to find it too if you want (with your FAR more experienced eyes) :)

thanks again guys :)

This reminds me of the "Reiffenhauser"-picture cube I obtained at the 2010 K-messe.
As QQ mentioned you indeed need to swap two identical edges to fix parity.

As I do not know how you solve let's do it the easy way: reference to LBL where you have a 2nd layer edge stuck in the wrong slot.
Break out an edge by putting in a random LL edge, then insert it in the slot where its identical twin currently is.
Then place the twin piece in the initial slot.
Solve as usual from there.

I've just seen your edit: please note there is no third incorrect piece...
If you swap two identical pieces you wil have a "solvable" cube.

You need to swap the UF->FR and also swap 2 identical edges, so go for BU and BD, to do this, hold the unsolved face on the front and do:
R F' L' F H-perm F' L F R'
