Hey there people...

well... the thing is... my favorite part of solving the cube is memorizing algorithms so (since im a fridrich) i learned FULL PLL and i'm about 24/57 OLL but i find oll too boring... and i want to learno A LOT OF ALGORITHMS so... what do you recomend? COLL... ZBLL...EPLL?

i am very interested in ZBLL....

Go for ZBLL, its lots of algs but it also is good for solving. Also think a LS methos which orients LL edfges during last slot, so you can use ZBLL in a CFOP solve

Learn all F2L Algs from all angles. I bet that would be better than ZBLL :P

If you've already gotten "bored" of OLL, I have no idea why you think you can learn ZBLL.

Kirjava wins (nearly made me spit out a mouthful of crisps/chips into my monitor).

Seriously, ZB before OLL...
ZB is fine if you really really want to learn tons of algorithms.... just don't be under the misconception that it will make you solve faster.
Practically, you'd probably better of learning COLL of all the options.

I am in a similar position. I enjoy learning algs. After PLL and OLL I would probably recommend COLL and EPLL for 3x3. COLL is a subset of ZBLL anyway and you will need COLL recognition for ZBLL.

You can then choose to use COLL when you have an all edges orientated OLL and be left with an EPLL which tend to be faster algs anyway.

There is also VHF2L, being a subset of ZBF2L which although of limited speed use on 3x3 is an easier route to forcing edge orientation. Personally I think VHF2L is of more value on bigger cubes. EPLL would suck very badly IMO on bigger cubes with the mass M/M'.

Obviously ZBLL and ZBF2L are mass alg favorites but you will need COLL anyway for ZBLL. And you will need VHF2L for ZBF2L so those are good first stepping stones and will aid a proportion of your solves situationally.

Personally I halted my COLL learning (about half way through) until after my 1st comp later this month when I will start on them again.

Of course this is advise from someone only cubing for 6 months so you may get better advise for more long standing members of the community.

hey whats up with you guys? Don't confuse someone who averages 40 in learning Full ZB.

@ OP:The best post to follow is Selkie's. I suggest to finish OLL, and after you can do OLL pretty fast, you can start with COLL, maybe with some basic LL influence during F2L.

But I really recommend to first finish learning OLL, AND being fast at OLL

And a last advice: Your times will go down much faster, if you go slow and look ahead instead of learning Algorithms :)

Ummm, the point of this thread was to suggest algs for him to learn, not necessarily to increase speed, but just for the fun of learning.

Still, learning Full ZB as next step is not a good suggestion. Some people said he should (as a joke obv). I'm not complaining about people suggesting COLL or even just finishing OLL :)
