My cube is too loose!! WTF!

I've had my cube for about 8 days.. but now after putting in lube(2 days ago) it looks and feels really loose. I think the looseness is causing it to lock up.

Its a DIY Dayan Guhong w/e so should I screw it with a screwdriver?? How do I know when to stop.

Tighten it about a half turn of the screw and dont make an entire thread about this.

Just try different tensions until you find it just loose/tight enough for you
Make sure that the tensions are the same on all layers

I really don't think you need a DIY if you're shaving an entire 30 seconds off your average. :/

Yeah, really. The implication is that the average was over 30 seconds before (probz closer to a minute). I didn't get my first DIY until I averaged 25.

I got down to ~17 seconds with a storebought. I just think you should be around 30 seconds before you buy a DIY because it's easier to improve that way. I don't understand how you can shave 30 seconds with a DIY but not with a broken in store-bought.

Not everybody likes doing it the hard way.

I shaved almost a minute with my first DIY (one week in) and it stopped my RSI from flairing up, so without a really good cube I wouldn't be cubing now.

No, but yeah... Just loosen it to whatever you like.

The reason why people should wait until they get fast to get a DIY is simple. It's easier to see your mistakes, and perfect your technique when you have a slow cube. If you have a fast cube you keep you bad habits and stay slow forever.
