Well in search of more improvement I have started PLL attack averages. I am probably more conscious of improving turn speed being a more mature cuber and realising that will always be a weakness.

Whilst faster solvers will generally have a faster PLL attack time I did start wondering what the correlation was. Do really fast solvers have a better ratio on average

So, take my times. I currently average about 25s and my PLL attack Avg12 is approximately 1m15s. So 75secs(PLL attack avg)/25s (Solve Average) = 3

Ratio of 3 for 25s average.

be really interested to see others PLL/Solve ratio and their average times..

(apologies in advance to those COLL/ELL amongst us :P )

33/8 = 4.125

I guess if I actually worked at PLL attacks then it could be closer to 29-30, I'm not sure if there is any way of deciding what a 'good' ratio is.

I'm gunna be that Roux guy.

My ratio is almost exactly 1/3. Five over fifteen.

Well the ratios of other methods is as interesting to see as speed overall.

This was my thought entirely prior to making the thread. Is there even an ideal, will great optimized F2L win over TPS? Or is average speed completely unrelated to this ratio. I have to confess, part of my motivation for this is purely personal. I want to see if someone in their 40s can achieve sub-15 with TPS taken into account but I think the actual results will be quite interesting to all.

Thanks for posting Escher, great to have ratios right at the fastest end of the scale.

.....

If we get enough feedback I will try and create some completely pointless graphs and statistics.

I dont do PLL TA amymore cause it seemed bad for my RSI but I was consistently at 1 min so:
60/27
2.2 / 1

Not a bad ratio but I should note, I spent about 3 hours planning it before I did my first attempt. Worked out a super tight order so that my hands were always in the correct position at the end of one alg to go into the next.
