This is my review on the Dayan Lunhui.
I got this of the cubicle around August.
Turning: the cube is smooth with a slight scratchy/sandy feeling. It also feels blocky to me.
Corner cutting: the cube can cut 45 with some force and line to line fairly easily. Reverse is some of the best I've seen at 3/4 of a cubie
with a bit of force. however, the corner cutting is very snappy and doesn't corner cut as easily as other cubes 3 of 5
Pops: The Lunhui can pop at loser tension and when it does its usually 3 pieces, an edge and two corners.
its usually caused by cutting over 45 and tightening to medium or tight tensions resolves much of the poping. 4 of 5
Cathces: as for catching, this cube does catch on me due to the holes on the pieces being smaller than on other more recent cubes, causing
a catch. This isn't severe, but is one of the cubes downfalls 3 of 5
Speed: this cube has good speed though isn't the fastest by any means. I have lubricated it with weight 3 from the Cubicle. 4 of 5
Control: as a 22 second solver I have little trouble controlling this cube and had good control on this cube when i average 35. 5 of 5
Other Pros/Cons: It does not corner twist, the caps have never fell of on me during a solve, but stickers are very dull.
Its most interesting feature is that you can pull out the corners a bit due to the design and have the corners stick out and 3 of 5
will still work. one of the screws is striped on mine
final score: 22 of 30 Grade: B- Recommendation: maybe
I am not a fan of this cube and average 2 seconds slower on this than my main. This could be an option for someone who averages 20-40 seconds,
likes a smooth yet slightly sandy feel, is fairly accurate, and has a gentle turning style, or someone just wanting to complete their Dayan collection.
Overall, not a bad cube, but not my kind of cube.
