That really sucks. I'm almost positive that it read 6.00 right before the blank lines starting filling in due to the reset.

I've contacted their engineers several years ago. They said they would get back to me, but never did. I'd be surprised if they do any big re-design; the timer seems to be working great for their sport (cup-stacking).Maybe this will spur the talk about a timer redesign again.
That's pretty solid proof there. Any chance the WCA can make a ruling and give him the WR? Even if that's a few hundredths in either direction his hands are definitely on the stackmat and it's definitely faster than the current WR single.
Hell no that would be stupid. If he pressed the reset button that is his own fault. If it was a timer malfunction then he has every right to be annoyed but that is something that we have to put up with as long as we use stackmat timers.
It might be easier if, instead of hoping people we don't know will significantly change their product, we invest in a bunch of little rubber rings to glue over the reset buttons (so you can't press it by accident). I've seen this on a competition before, but I don't remember whose timer it was.Maybe this will spur the talk about a timer redesign again.
