[Unofficial] Kanneti Sae Han - almost 3x3 Single WR

That really sucks. I'm almost positive that it read 6.00 right before the blank lines starting filling in due to the reset.

I see 2 frames just from pausing/playing the YouTube player quickly where the displace reads 5.87 and his hands are on the timer.
You can also see 6.00, and then the display begins to reset.

Regardless of the exact time, he obviously surpassed 6.65... how unfortunate. :(

From what I see the time would've been 6.0x...

I have a display myself and it looks different than the timer... The reason you see 8.00 is because the numbers go back to 0 from right to left. Example: 6.08>6.80>8.00>0.00. It always shows 8 before 0.

I had a really good solve with a PLL skip at MOA today... I was really upset when I finished and found the timer read 0.13. DNF :fp

That's pretty solid proof there. Any chance the WCA can make a ruling and give him the WR? Even if that's a few hundredths in either direction his hands are definitely on the stackmat and it's definitely faster than the current WR single.

Hell no that would be stupid. If he pressed the reset button that is his own fault. If it was a timer malfunction then he has every right to be annoyed but that is something that we have to put up with as long as we use stackmat timers.

Damn stackmat timers and their timer malfunctions

That really sucks. I would be hardly banging my head against the wall.

Am I the only one that initially loled before realizing that he might never get another chance like this... which then made me feel like a sob?

Maybe this will spur the talk about a timer redesign again.
It might be easier if, instead of hoping people we don't know will significantly change their product, we invest in a bunch of little rubber rings to glue over the reset buttons (so you can't press it by accident). I've seen this on a competition before, but I don't remember whose timer it was.

Probably us. Although, they've started to fall off as of late.
