F2L helps?

Ive been doing it for about 3 days and it takes me a rubish 50-35 seconds to do... FML.

when i started my times went up to 1:20 from 0:55. now my best is 15.25 and i have a horrible LL.
basically practice till you can do it on recog only, then train your look ahead and look for better algs for bad cases

I don't understand why there have been so many threads on this. I think the reason you guys are seeing a time hit is because you are timing yourself too early. I think you need to spend a few days (more like a ~150 solves) familiarizing yourselves with the cases before you start timing yourself. When I first decided to go to F2L from Keyhole, I was averaging 40ish (with a horrible LL as well, probably at least 10+) and my times were around 5s slower on average when I first played with F2L. In a week I was already sub40 consistently, without even worrying much about my LL. Shortly after that I switched to the F SM F' EO algs and switched my U perms (I was still doing U twice for H and Z back then).

I think the bottom line is: Stop worrying about a time hit when you don't fully understand the method you are learning. Go learn roux or petrus, I promise your times will spike again. This is no different. I think the illusion here is that you are used to seeing people do F2L and get sub12 solves. That didn't come without practice.

If I came off rude in this post, I really did not intend to.

10 seconds? 7 months or so, I didn't speedcube for ~ 1 month though, learned algs in that time / had real life to attend to. Slow turning during F2L can get you ~ 12 seconds easily though.

I am at about 10 seconds sometimes, although not always. I have known it for 3-4 months.

When I started learning F2L about 3-4 months ago, my averages went from 28-30 all the way up to high 40's. Now, my F2L (including cross) takes around 13-17 seconds... I now average around 19-24

When had been doing it for 3 days, it took me 2mins+

I average about 8-12 seconds and I have been using f2L for about 5-6 months.

Well after 3 months I'm in the low 10s... Just practice

Did you guys learn anything new in between while improving, like any new trick or any new algorithm or any particular fingertrick,or it was just practice with which you improved and got low on your F2L times
