Android phone solves Rubik’s cube in 12.5 seconds

The 3x3x3 solver is pretty impressive, but I always wonder if they actually use a metric suited to the solver to filter possible solutions. Actually seems like they might have done that here, considering how intelligently the solver seems to handle the cube.

Also: Does anyone know if anyone has ever incorporated a live algorithm into such a solver? There's no need to stop at the first solution found; if you can sometimes improve a part of the solution before the physical solver has gotten there yet, it's worth it. But I suppose these engineers aren't trying to squeeze out every optimization yet.

7x7x7 cube solving robot... Wow...

Think of it this way: a 7x7x7 cube scrambling robot!

I've seen some robots that would be specifically good for doing 2-gen but the calculations don't seem to take that into account and do a bunch of slow rotation.
