Easiest? 1x1. Hardest? 17x17. To get? Moar 3x3's. Maybe a GuHong or two.

The megaminx is awesome, get the Mefferts or mf8 v2, or the square 1, which is really cool even though I don't have one

The puzzles you should get after 2-7 are pyraminx square one and clock. All can be bought on cubedepot.

Get a 3x3x3. Doens't matter which one... probably the only one that noboby will recomend is the original one.
To tell you the truth I have a original one, and I do use it, but, just because I "chalenged" myself to either make it a good cube by just turning the sides a thousand times everyday. If my patience runs out, I'll probably do what Thrawst(from youtube) did with his cube.

I have the Fisher's cube and the Gear cube, both bought from Meffert's. The first one I like because it's kind of a different chalenge than the original Rubik's, and the second one, although it's too easy, hell, it has GEARS! Haha! Way too cool.
It's fun to watch your friends trying to solve the Gear cube and saying: "this is...made by the Devil..."
