hey does anyone have any good efficient algs for orientating centers the right way on a picture cube once you solve it and find their the wrong way?

What? Could you please talk more clearly?

Orienting centers? Do they need to be oriented?

Picture cube? What?

Oh wait I think I know what you mean. Are you asking about if you solved the cube, but the centers aren't correctly permuted (or oriented - I don't know the word for it)?
A thread about this topic, and answer it is below (I don't know the answer to your question):

Make sure you search forums before asking a question. :)

By the way I hope understood what your question was. If I didn't I'm sorry, I couldn't understand what you meant.

You should be able to orient the bottom center and side centers pretty easily. However, if the top center is 180 degrees off, you can do (LRUL'R'U2)*2.
The old way I used to orient the top center was to swap 3 edges on top... three times. The edges would come back to normal but the top center would end up flipped 180 degrees.

Okay, so the center rotates. What does that matter? Unless you have a logo on the center, I don't see why anyone would care, because it all looks the same.

Use the edit button. It's there for a reason.
pcharles, make sure you know rjohnson_8ball just joined a few days ago! And you should at least answer his/her question.

do you know what is a super cube?
it is the cubes with arrows on the gabbasoft simulator.

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.......................

Okay now I understand his question......

And I don't know how to answer it :D

Sorry :(

The term supercube could mean Stefan Pochmann's idea for a more challenging cube:
http://cubesmith.com/Supercubes.htm

... or the Gabbasoft cube with arrows, which according to Cubesmith, the non-coloured version is called a Shepherd's cube:
http://cubesmith.com/Shepherd's.htm

But in any case, it means the centers have to be 'rotated' the right way when solved. I think what Raptor meant when he said picture cube was a cube that had a photo/image on each face as the stickers (so if you're going to solve it normally without care, the image might not turn out correctly because the center is rotated).

To people who don't know what I mean, grab a cube with a Rubik's or Cubesmith logo on it, make a note of which side it's facing, scramble and solve it normally. More often than not, the logo would be facing another direction.

The way I solve it is to take care when solving the cross to make sure the side-center and cross-center arrows (for the Gabbasoft cube) are facing the right way after finishing the cross. If you've done that, F2L, OLL, and PLL can be done normally. However, the LL center would be either solved or off by 180 degrees. Then just do an alg (like doing a T-perm twice or, like rjohnson pointed out (LRUL'R'U2)*2) to rotate it back and therefore solve it.

Hope that wasn't too confusing.

lol thanks guys.

ye your right amateurguy its a Rubiks brand cube with photos on each face, it a promotional thing i got from a company, pretty sweet freebie i was pretty please by it :P . but ye same idea as the ones on gabbasoft
ive tried a few algs and ive found a few that do the job. just that there long. and normally you have to do them like twice or three times.
but LRUL'R'U2*2 is much quicker thanks!

i like the photo cube its like solving a puzzle at the same time. much slower tho. the photos are really detailed so it makes it hard.

of course im only talking about the last center i.e the top. the other centers are easy to orientate.

Just in case someone wants to but doesn't know how that alg works, I'll describe how I came up with it.

U2 can be seen as two 2-cycles of opposite ce-pairs (like 2 N-perms) and a 180 degree rotation of the U-center. If we only swap the ce-pairs while leaving the center alone, and then do U2, the center will be turned 180 degrees.

An easy way to swap 2 opposite ce-pairs in the U-layer is R' L' d2 R L. Using a commutator we can swap both pairs: [R' L' d2 R L, U] = R' L U2 R L U R' L' U2 R L U'. Finally adding U2 to that changes the U' to U.

<rant>Please don't write UDFBRL*2 when you mean (UDFBRL)*2, the parentheses make it much more clear.</rant>
