Sometimes I didn't know the CLL or the ELL so I improvised with 2 step crap then. Sub-11 is definitely possible. Also: sometimes I used a different CLL than I usually would so I can also orient the edges at the same time.

That's exactly what I do, but at my speed nobody sees the difference.

And thanx for this publicity of my good old CLL-ELL method.
And you proved it can be very fast!
I've seen your fingers doing M U M U M stuf and I'm almost convinced that if you know all algs you can be as fast, or faster than, OLL-PLL. We discussed that before.
But even better: if you know complete CLL-ELL you can choose for the optimal alg (OLL or CLL) after you finish your F2L and probably save tenths of secondsper solve (on average)!
Looking forward to meet you in Budapest!

Well I pwn that theory again, I know a lot of different CLL's for some cases so I can orient edges sometimes. Or thinking the other way around: I can solve corners after an OLL case.
(so ya what Kirjava says)

I'm still lacking some decent algs for a few ELL cases, they are even worse than for instance N-perm... On the other hand there are some really short algs for ELL too.

You do CLL/ELL so good, Arnaud thought your first solve of EC08 final was CLL/ELL. :P

Nice avareage! Technically, shouldn't be the 10.91 a DNF (at 4:19), since (as far as I cought it well) it was not CLL/ELL?! :P

interesting... well it may sound noob but I was just wondering about the point of doing this... if there is a cross, you do CLL than EP, if there isn't you do a alg that orient the corners and end up in other OLL case that you can pll skip?

This was entertaining to watch :D I love how short CLL/ELL LL can be.

But Chris proved that it's actually more lucky to always do OLL over CLL!

This doesn't make OLL 'better', and it's more lucky to use both :3

Kir brought up a good point in that thread too. Just because using OLL over CLL in those cases can lead to a slightly higher chance of a 1LLL doesn't make it faster.

What I showed was that, if you only care about trying to skip steps, when presented with a LL case that is neither an OLL nor a CLL skip that you would be more likely to skip a step if you choose to continue with OLL.

If you get a LL that is a skip of either OLL or CLL, or both, then continue appropriately to solve the cube in one step. If you solve with such a strategy it turns out that you never in fact use CLL. But again, as Kir pointed out, this doesn't necessarily make this a faster method than CLL/ELL. It just means that it is more likely to get a 1LLL with such a strategy, assuming no other tricks are used during LL but OLL/PLL and CLL/ELL.
