Sending the Cross to U in f2l

Hey everyone,
My F2L, as with everybody near :30 avg, needs a lot of refining. Right now I have two main problems:
1) I rotate the cube way too much
2) I don't use some algorithms that I've seen in the video

While number 1) I kinda know how to deal with, I'm having some problems with 2) .

I've seen some videos where people use these algorithms that involve sending the cross edges to the U layers, such as R2, L2, etc.. in some situations. I only use it in one situation:

(setup) L2 U' L U' L' U2 L2

Which almost always involves cube rotations. How do I deal with this, does anyone know any reference or at least can give me some basic cases where I SHOULD do any cross-breaking algorithms? (for me they are non-intuitive, ideally I would like to make them so)

Also, any tips for rotating less?

Thanks in advance

Force yourself to use both hand just as much. If you normaly use R U try L U more. It will be easier to insert and pairing up "from behind"

That really isn't a problem for me, I use both sides both in F2L and in OLL.

Whoa cross on left would destroy me inside out, I use it on bottom since forever =/

Not every F2L algorithm is going to be intuitive, especially one like this. It's one of the worst cases, and it's good to have some brute force algorithms sometimes, intuition or not.

stick with cross on bottom!!
as for rotations I had the same problem so I spent a day just doing 2 gen solves swapping between L U and R U every 20 or so solves!!
you dont nd algs for f2l imo intuitive is faster unless you find some cases extremely long

I use this, pretty fast if you have good F moves U2 F R U R'2 F R F'2 (I do the last F'2 with my thumb like an extended F' move)

Yea that's what I was hoping for, does anybody have any other useful algorithms like the one Dene and frog mentioned?

for the case in the OP i use U' L' U L U L' U L U' L' U L

or y2 and do it in backright

these are easier for me than the alg in the OP, but they don't disrupt cross edges

I don't think I ever put the cross on the U layer, except for the one case that I just learnt recently (R2 u R2 u' R2)

I used to try to use this one. But it took me ages to recognise the case.

yea thats my main problem for any "jeff2l" cases, especially when the corner and edge aren't in adjacent slots. I mean, the alg is fast and if you can recognize it well im sure it's much faster than like, R U R' U2 then solve as normal.
I just never have time to look all around the cube, i pretty much only lookahead on the U layer, which is why I loathe f2ls where all the pieces are in wrong slots... :(
