I recently (yesterday) finally finished all 57 OLL and 21 PLL (badmephisto)

However I have learend F2L completely intutively (record is 30 seconds and avg hovering around 42 seconds)

I was wondering, there are some cases where I'd like to learn algorithms foor F2L (just because intuitive approach is too slow)

Any place for F2L algorithms? I just need a few. Badmephisto has given some sites but .. I was wondering what the speedsolving community has to offer (I've been cubing for a around 4-5 months now)

off topic..i sooo wanna go to us nationals in MA...but 7 hour drive..too long for me :-/

PS-First post here, I'm Ryan Reese, 18 and I'm from Maryland :)

Google, TheWeston F2L algorithms... he has a good video for algorithms that you should know if you use intuitive F2L.

Hey, Ryan! I just wanted to say that it's pretty ridiculous that you know Full Fridrich, but aren't even sub 40 (no offense, of course). Your F2L probably needs a lot of work, so what I would recommend for you to do is compare how you would solve each F2L case to some good F2L algs. I'm positive you'll find many cases in which your "algs" are very inefficient.

Also, no offense to meph (Andrej is awesome! :D), but quite a few of his OLLs and PLLs aren't the best, they're just easy to learn. At this point that probably doesn't matter a whole lot to you, but I'm just letting you know.

Anyway, good luck. Sub 20, gogogo! :)
Oh, and see you at Nats! ;) I guarantee the competition will more than make up for the drive.

Yeah my F2l hovers around 30 average ..if I get good pairs then it's lower

A place for better OLls and PLL :( ?

Find PLLS and OLLS that fit to your style. There is no perfect set of OLLs and PLLs, just whatever suits you. Just check out the following sites:
http://cubefreak.net/Fridrich/main.html
http://www.cubestation.co.uk/cs2/index.php?page=3x3x3/3x3x3

Oh and Macky stresses this a whole lot. The most important concept of speedcubing is looking ahead. Even if you can execute you algorithms fast if you don't look ahead then you may pause after executing an algorithm. Slow down towards the end of you algorithms so you can see what to do next.

Actually, I hadn't looked at his page in a long time tbh, so I just checked and realized that most of them aren't bad at all. So I take back what I said to a certain extent. There were only a few cases that I didn't think were the greatest (However, that's just my opinion).

If you want other places then I would suggest looking through the wiki as it has many different algs to choose from for each case. I also have the algs I use on my website if you would like to check that out.

I find the OLL and PLL i have learned all seem to be perfect for my finger tricks. true I could see some of them being better tthough I like mine :)

Here is a videO i just did (please don't yell for doing z2 to solve the cross in teh beginning.. i did a horrible cross solve there. I normally never rotate during the cross.

it's still processing though..hopefully it gets done soon.

edit--Just read your last post. yay :)

Ahh dang! I still need to get around to learning the rest of OLL and PLL. Still stuck on 2LOLL D: Procrastination!

I think an intuitive approach would be best, to be honest.

Any other opinions on my vid?

Work on your fingertricks, and your recognition should be quicker. And maybe give us a first person view of you solving not a third person view.

I couldn't tell, did you get a PLL Skip?

U Perm.

But he's right about looking ahead and fingertricks. It looked like you were using your whole hand for U sometimes. Just work on those and the algs should be a lot easier, and your last layer will improve. But of course the biggest thing is practice.
