I just got a can of Jig-a-loo lubricant yesterday (Yay!!! no more having to deal with my nightmarishly stiff cube!!!) and I would like to know if there are any 'special' things I might want to do to my cube before I apply the lubricant.

I DO know to wipe the cubies with a slightly damp towel to get the cube dust out.

Should I lubricate the kernel or the 'gaps' between the white kernel and the center part?

Should I pop a single edge and spray into the hole or should I take apart my cube and spray the inside of every single piece?

I'm new to lubricating and using lubricated cubes to do fingertricks, so expect a thread asking about fingertricks later.:)

I used Jig-a-loo too. It can be kind of sticky for a little while, but then loosens up.

And I didn't bother to take apart the entire cube. I just twisted the cube so that a little crack was made that I could fit the straw attachment into.

Sometimes I take off one corner cubie and spray every side that way. In my mind, no need to take it entirely apart. But if you'll be doing it anyway to clean it...

i just started using jigaloo last week and i love it, it's awesome. It's actually a little too good, it lubricated my loose cube to the point that i could make a full face turn with a single flick :D

but yea i just pop out and edge, spray it, and do it randomly on 4 places while just scrambling the cube to spread it out. and that does the trick.

I have Liquid Wrench, and it isn't that good. I want to get a new lube, but I'm not sure which to get, Jig-A-Loo, or CRC Heavy Duty, because I've heard great things about both.

Don't be afraid to go crazy with the Jig-a-loo, but prepared for a mess.Jig-a-loo, like any other lubricant, can get really messy in large quantities. If you do use a LOT of lube, be prepared to wipe the surface under your cube(it's best to lube with layers of paper towel under your cube). Also, if lube gets out, it may dry and get your stickers dirty. And your hands.

I have used jigaloo with 3 different dyi's and I find that they are far better if taken apart and sprayed the first time and then you can just shoot a bit in as a refresh; to me this makes a huge difference and for time it takes is well worth it.

Scroll down the following linked page to see how he has them layed out so you don't hit the stickers.

^^ you know I really don't know for sure that it is silcone but it is a really great product and certainly works just like the silicone.

++ Okay, I checked and it is silcone based.

i love the jigaloo website xD

yeah I find that spraying it on the cubies is a lot more effective with jigaloo, it seems to work a lot better

Related to the Jig-a-loo topic, when I am getting the cube dust out of my cube, should I wash all the cubies (and quite possible ruin my flimsy original stickers) or simply wipe the cubies with a slightly damp towel?

I have heard so much hype about this stuff, that I went and got a can. I got a brand new cube as well, so I could really see a comparison.

Let me say. This stuff is awesome. I like it better than the CRC.

Cubie. It hasn't leaked out for me yet.

Will Jig-a-loo leak out of the cube? Regardless of whether it does or not, is it safe???

It will if you spray a cr@pload in there...just a little squirt in the corner everyonce in while (after the intial taken apart full coverage) and you will be fine. It isn't too toxic but I usually try to keep it off the stickers and wash my hands if I get some residue on them.

My parents aren't letting me use it because it might be toxic. Any material to convince them otherwise???
