How much slower/faster are you when you replace M-slices

How do you flick r2 with your wrist?

Um.. You place your right index finger on the F stickers of the UFR and UF pieces, your right ring finger on the U pieces of URB and UB and turn the R and M layers at the same time using your wrist. So your forearm stays more or less stationary and your wrist spins clockwise, moving your fingers away from you.

You basically just turn the face with your wrist, I think maybe I don't fully understand your question?

Chris

That's not a flick. Flick usually means you are using your fingers, not your wrist.

Milan Baticz did a ridiculous fast r2R2 H perm in the finals of WC. I am too lazy to dig up the vid though.

Gotcha, well with this terminology Macky was doing r2 R2 by doing r2 with a wrist turn followed by R2 as a flick (with fingers) right near the tail end of the wrist turn. Basically his hand did a flourish movement and only the M layer was turned twice at the end, it looked very neat (but by his own admission it was useless for speedsolving).

Dan Harris and Frank Morris also surprised me with the speed of how fast they do this style H perm. I think it shouldn't be discounted as a fast way to do the M2 turns.

Hmm I think the easiest way to describe this understandably is to say "Macky did some sort of Macky thing and it was fast and looked cool" Am I right in this thinking?

M2 U: 1.15
r2 R2': 1.42

Sometimes I use r2R2' when my hand is not in an appropriate position to do an M2 such as after doing an F' with my thumb. Then the times are:
F' M2: 1.65
F' r2R2': 1.36

WOAH! I just realized I can do Fingertricks with H perms! haha sweet. Ive always palmed it and I just reversed the U turns for my left hand flicked the M2 turns. Its dang fast. Geez. It saves me like 3 seconds off that alg.

Ok Im done ranting :P
