Most efficent/fast 4x4 method?

What would it be, i want to learn a fast method thats good.

I already know the method of center first and then dedges then solve like 3x3 and then parity.

But i seen methods where u create a cage and do center last?/

Which is the best method? and where can i learn it.

the only two methods I've ever learned were cage -> centers and centers -> edges -> solve 3x3. Out of those two, the centers first method is FAR better than the centers last method.

Reduction (Centers -> Edges -> 3x3 (+parityfix)) has been the fastest method so far. Several people have gotten sub-50 with it this year.

You can learn here http://bigcubes.com/4x4x4/4x4x4.html, http://www.speedcubing.com/chris/4-solution.html and http://www.speedcubing.com/chris/4speedsolve.html

Per has posted some really fast (sub 60) times with caging, so this method is definitely not slow. Maybe of more people would try it?
And there is also something called C4/K4, but I haven't heard anything about that in the last year. It was somewhat like corners-first/roux mixture building pillars. Anyway: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mL6uaSsiBeE and http://www.speedsolving.com/archive/index.php/t-363.html

But to be able to do 2 look, you have to learn more parity fixing algorithms.
I don't know anyone that knows all OLL's including parity-fix.

I know Michael Fung started making a list of PLL + Parity-fix algs and Clement Gallet has found many algs for that list with his optimal solver (it cannot solve the entire 4x4x4 optimal, but 13 moves is possible)

I also know Ron has made a list of optimal combinations for PLL + Parity-fix. Sometimes it is better to do the Parity-fix so it becomes an easy PLL, sometimes it is better to do the PLL first so it becomes an easy Parity-fix.

My way of solving the 4x4 cube that is fast and efficient for me is centers dedges 3x3x3 block 3x3x4 block dedge orientation and permutation permute corners orient corners

You posted in a thread where the last post was on 01-02-2008 12:42 AM.
You 'bumped' an old topic to the front by adding a post to a topic that's been long dead.
