ok so i did an avg of 12 yesterday and the average was 33.15 which is good considering i usually get around a 40 second average. I was suprised because i got a 25 and a 28 second solve. I was wondering how long do you think it will take me to get sub 30?

if want real bad, you'd practice. there's no magic trick, no special potion, only you and a cube and some snacks....maybe a cookie.

and don't worry about going slow in a competition, you're going to a competition to have fun, don't be so concerned about your times.

im done with my f2l at around 25 seconds so idk if that is fast for a 35 second solve but cokkies won't help, I'll just throw up (I'm allergic)

I think that just practicing a bit every day should be enough to get sub-30 in a relatively short time. But I recommend practicing look ahead as the most important thing in speedcubing. It is the hardest thing but it is also the most time reducing when you are sub-30 in average.

not if you use another method.

For all intents and purposes, can we just assume Fridrich for everyone? Roux needs some time, and for you to get really good times, coming soon I hope.;)

I highly doubt that. Are you only consuming chocolate chip? Because Snickerdoodles and Sugar cookies are pretty good, especially from Paradise Bakery & Cafe. All flour can't be bad for you. Try something else, because cookies are very beneficial to your times.:D

I actually think that it's the other way around. Roux provides imediate time reduction but the rate slows down incredibly compared to Fridrich which has a much more even curve.

i want sub 30 real bad. I feel to slow to go to a competetion yet.
Rubik's Cube competitions are not about winning, unless you average like sub 15 or something (most of those people still don't go their just to win). Most people go to competitions to meet people and have lots of fun.

And you're not too slow, there's usually at least a few people who average over a minute (sometimes two minutes).

Your Cross + F2L is 25 seconds? Do you know what looking ahead is? Because when I was around 30-40 seconds, my improvement was very fast until I got around 31-33 seconds. I couldn't get past that barrier for many days (haha days). Then I learned about looking ahead and I was able to get past 30 seconds and with looking ahead and like 10 more OLL algorithms I'm at the speed I am now :) If you don't know what looking ahead is, I have a looking ahead tutorial that goes into detail on what it is, how it helps you, and how to practice getting better at it.

By the way, if you haven't learned all of your PLLs, you should now.

Practice, practice, practice, at LEAST 1 avg of 12 a day, or just 12 un-timed solves, either way its still that you MUST PRACTICE!

Btw, i'm not even as fast as you, but i went to a comp 2 days ago!

also, like waffle may tell you:
"A cookie a day keeps the slow solves away" :D

but cookies won't help, I'll just throw up (I'm allergic)

Errr....no...
how many algs for full CFOP? 57OLL+21PLL+F2L(if you want) = ?
how many algs for full roux? 42 CMLL cases

Get into a block building state of mind and Roux is easy to get fast with and quickly.

Besides, how you you like it if I said "Nope your method isn't good enough for me" not really nice isn't it?
I respect users of other methods but not EVERY single person use CFOP. And I'm not the only Roux solver either.

What if there's a ZZ, Petrus, Roux user asking to be sub-30 too....you can't just shut them out just because you don't use roux. It's a lot better for them to at least grab some info from a thread like this and not make one that's not really as needed.

Would you rather just read about a similar cuber who wants to be sub-30 and say "have you seen this thread" and point them to this one and then somewhere, it says "Fridrich for everyone". Not very helpful. You need to more open about other methods.

no. If you can't cope with the fact that there are also non-Fridrich users
, then you still have a lot to learn about cubing and you shouldn't give general advice.
