Fridrich F2L tips?

I try to do number 1, I don't really understand number 2 VERY well, and I just do d, d', or d2 for number 3 ^.^

Well.. Just minimize the number of moves for the F2L, solving the F2L very slowly. Think about every move you make: Is that move really neseccary? Can you find a short cut?

About using d, d' or d2, I do really think that in the end you want to be able to solve all pairs from all angles, but I can understand that you maybe first want to practice recognising the pairs in the first place.

I can recognize the C/E pairs well currently.

and About those "Bad Habits" you were talking about, I don't really know what your talking about. Could you give some examples, please?

Whatever color your making your cross with make sure once you have finished making the cross to ignore all edges and corners with the crosses opposite color. So if i did my cross with white after im done you would ignore all the yellow edges and yellow corners.

This thread is over 2 years old..

Wtf! I swear people don't realize that answering questions people asked 2 years ago, are no longer pertinent.

Once someone's mistake has been pointed out, more people piling on derision is just as off topic and annoying as whoever resurrected the thread in the first place.

(I for one am glad it was resurrected. I saw it sitting there and at the very moment am learning F2L, so I read the whole thing. Just now realized how old it was when I got to the end. But, good tips, I got some good bookmarks, and appreciate all the replies - now matter how old they are. :P So my thanks to all who built it up.)

I disagree with a lot of the people that immediately jump on others for resurrecting old threads. If you're adding something significant to the conversation, then it's a good choice. If you've read the entire thread but still have questions about that topic that aren't covered, then it's a good choice *and* avoids the "did you use the search?" posts, because you obviously did.

New posters often get caught responding to old threads because they don't realize they're old. These cases can be politely corrected, but there's no need for a dozen people to all say "this is useless", once is enough.

Have your cross memorized before you start so instead of focusing on that you are focusing on your first f2l pair. then as you are turning the cube and moving your first pair, start to look for the next.
