What do you think is more important: puppies or candles?

That depends on the situation. The puppy is better for companionship, but the candle is better for survival. The puppy lasts longer than the candle, but the candle is more portable than the puppy. The puppy can catch food, but the candle can cook the food. Neither of them are as good to have if they're wet. The puppy will grow into a dog, but the candle will shrink into a pile of wax. It's a tough call. Is it too much to ask for both?

There's nothing wrong with raw meat.

me and my friend have been arguing. which is more important, politics or paleontology? i think paleontology. what about you?

More important for what? For the world as it presently is? Then politics. For the world as it should be? Paleontology.

That's the most ridiculous question I've ever heard. Kind of like comparing apples and pears.

Very nice ;)

But you forgot that puppies will attract woman, leading to a date where you will need candles. Indeed we need both

Can we ignore this topic now or shall we continue with apples and jumping rope?

Bonuspoints for the MOST off-topic post in "Off-Topic Discussion" ever?

WRONG INFORMATION!!!
Puppie is better. because if you are buried alive with one candle and a lighter then you will die! :D Because a the flame uses oxygen and you will suffocate!
Puppie will just warm you're feet :) They will hold there breaths! :D

I'm taking this as serious as possible: politics, because I really can't think of anything important paleontology has done for me... ever.
Were you and your friend perhaps under the influence of potentially illegal drugs at the time of this argument?

Apples vs. Jumping Rope:

Once again, depends on the situation. If you need to survive in the wilderness, the apple gives you food and some water, but you can use the jumprope to catch fish or climb trees, or cut part of it off and fray it to use as a fire starter. The jumprope can make you healthier by giving you a way to exercise, but you can exercise without the jumprope. The apple, however, can give you food, and if you're stranded, you can't get food without the apple. Finally, the apple has seeds, which can be used to make more apples, which can be used to make more trees. Apple wins. QED.

Give me another one!

A music player or a flame thrower :D

A music player or a flame thrower :D

Here goes (from now on, I'm just going to evaluate them based on what will better promote the lifespan of the user). Well, the flame thrower appears better on the surface, as it can create heat, light, kill and cook food, and signal people. The music player on the other hand, if it's a walkman, has a reflective CD in it, or if it's an iPod, has a reflective surface that can be used as a signal also. The music player is more portable and it's more entertaining (debatable), but it probably has a shorter lifespan. So... personal preference.
