[WR] 7.08 3x3x3 single Erik Akkersdijk

It will be broken this or next year I think... With a PLL or LL skip... We have so many fast cubers right now, who can get sub8 with skips... like Tomasz Zolnowski or Brendean Vallance (I bet I did a misstake) or Erik Akkersdijk!

Yes, it´s probably impossible to beat it without a PLL-skip / OLL-skip / very easy extended cross.
And it´s even more impressive of Erik to do this (and hold the nerves back) in a competition.

Just imagine Tomasz Zolnowski getting a skip on his 8.75 solve.
It would have been sth like
6.25 PLL skip or
5.06 LL skip.

(would have to add a bit for dropping the cube and stopping the timer, but nonetheless:  )

Yeah, that's what I think will happen:
Someday a very, very fast cuber (like Erik...) will get a LL Skip with easy cross + F2L and the time will be something like 4.xx. This record will nearly be impossible to break!

Just for fun I tried the 7.08 WR scramble and tried my best. As my avarage is a little bit over 30 seconds I had no chance to come close (10.89). I want Eriks fingerspeed:o

I'd say... It is truly got to a point where it is... almost impossible to break.
That's exactly what many cubers were saying when Anssi got his 13.22 WR average.

Lol, I thought Anssi's 13.22 WR average would be easy to break after I watched a few sub-13 average videos on Gungz's site.

Sorry for the seven year bump, but after Erik's new PB, it's pretty cool to look back at how people reacted to the 7.08. :)

Also...
Heh. Personally I don't see it ever being broken unless someone else gets a really nice solve and a PLL skip. (Or if someone fast gets an LL skip)

Dang, words can't express how much I love this post.
