Ok, so I timed mysef for 15 solves and here are my times.

15: 00:56.21
14: 00:44.58 New PB
13: 01:09.51
12: 01:08.75
11: 01:14.10
10: 01:10.47
9: 01:07.69
8: 01:11.07
7: 00:59.25
6: 01:10.94
5: 01:02.53
4: 00:53.24
3: 00:45.18
2: 01:16.62 Worst time/15
1: 00:50.21
I use a crappy famwealth cube.
Intuitive F2L
2look OLL
2 look PLL

I am not sure why my times are like this. My f2l lookahead varied significantly during these times. After about 3 solves, my loookahead started going bad. Why would this be so? How could I improve it?

I also wondered the same thing when I started. I think it comes from being able to find your f2l pairs on certain solves faster, and how easily you can recognize your pll's. With practice your times will even out and get faster.

High-quality cubes can often even out one's times due to lock-ups, turning speed, etc.

I went through the same process. All I did was practice. Sounds simple, but it's effective. Getting a better cube can also help with evening out your times.

*Almost forgot. What really helped me was practicing the cross. Try to do it in fewer moves than you already do if your cross is not up to par. Getting my cross quick was a problem for me so I worked on that and it helped even my times out.

That's just variance...sometimes a solve presents familiar situations and sometimes you run into something that's inconvenient. At ~1:00 average this can mean swings of 10 or 20 seconds. But faster cubers experience this as well; it's just that down at sub-20 the scale is smaller and looks more consistent in absolute terms.

This is just because you have recently started but as you practice more you will get more consistent times

I've been cubing for 4 months, but I layed off better 3x3 methods because I went straight to 4x4, 5x5, megaminx, 2x2, and all other puzzles. I've only been using this method for about 1.5 months.:fp

I find when this happens to me it's usually because I'm turning too fast for my brain to look ahead. I have to deliberately slow down a little and really focus on looking ahead to get back into doing faster solves.

The same thing applies. New method, restart the process.
