Quick answer: practice
Long answer: Make sure the cube you are using can be turned with fingers and not require wrist turns. Turn faster in your LBL stage because there are so many moves between two pieces being inserted. Then go to learning "make last layer yellow" and a permutation last layer.

1 minute after 3 months isn't very good, you're probably doing something wrong or you're not practicing nearly enough. Watch tutorials on youtube, learn more algorithms and practice like your life depends on it.

bleh, people should work on their own pace. It took me 2 years to get sub-20.

getting faster is a matter of practice and dedication.

I would get discouraged if I saw too little result. But I just ask too much of myself...

[edit]: I actually misspelled discouraged... lame...

If you're still averaging 1 minute after 3 months, then I think it could be one of two problems. Either your cube is so stiff that you can't fingertrick it at all, or you never practice. I got under a minute after a few weeks, just by practicing every day. I do an average of 12 every day, plus a bunch of random practice solves. The fact that you're using the Dan Brown method is also making you slower. You should learn a better method.

As for your cube, I would suggest getting a better cube such as a Type A or a Type C. To hold you over until then, you should take apart your cube and sand the insides until the pieces don't have sharp edges. Don't do this unless your cube is very stiff because if it already turns fine this will make it too loose. Then lubricate it with silicone spray. The ones most people use are CRC spray and Jig-a-loo.
