Sorry if this has been posted or if im violating another thing i still have no idea how to work this sight except for post stuff lol. sorry but im really trying to get sub 20. i have around a 5 second cross and 15 second f2l. and then around a 13 2 look oll + pll. I've been trying to look ahead but its really hard for me. I've gotten a 24 non lucky solve idk how though sometimes my 2 look is really fast. i know like 8 or 9 plls and all 2 look oll. any suggestions to help me get sub 20? I have barley averaged sub 30 once.

Try learning all the algorithms, that will help with your LL speed. What I did to improve look ahead was I took a metronome and turned it on low. I scrambled my cube and started to solve it doing 1 turn every 1 tick of the metronome. I gradually made it faster and faster, and it helps you speed up your look ahead.

Haha, it's okay bro.

Youll learn from these threads and not make another one. :p
Dont "wut kewb shud i gt?" thread, or people will frown. D:

The trick is practice, since even LBL with a 4LLL can lead to sub 20.

Learn all PLLs, and chill on OLLs, since recognition and having the OLLs with the oriented cross can still be quite fast. The time you save on recognition and knowledge of the algs might give you an advantage over someone who knows 56 olls, but arent fully associated with them

I know this from experience, since during my 17.01 avg at horizons, I forgot an OLL that i had learned 2 months prior.

Also, F2l should be the main focus. A good cube will help, find a good cube after some experimentation and stick with that cube. This lets you cut corners and be more accurate.

Trying Bright or Florescent stickers to contrast with darker stickers can help recognition. I.e. Florescent green across from blue, and Florescent orange across from red.

In the end, the most important thing is practice, if you read nothing else.

EDIT:
Um...get a type C. That will improve your times a lot.

Do this for sure, I love my green type C, even after a year, its still good.

I too have an edison, and theyre over-rated in my opinion. Yes, there are people like Dan Cohen and Syuhei Omura who are very fast with edisons, but "in my opinion" id advise you do to get a type C, or a JSK clone.

Bullsh*t, overrated. It's my fastest cube and a bunch of people who I let use it think it's the greatest thing ever created (Ahem, Anthony Searle? XD).

I got my first PBs EVER with this cube PURELY BECAUSE OF THIS CUBE.
One, they never pop. Two, they cut corners better than my A II (which pops like effing mad) and Three, they're heavy enough that you're able to be sure of your turns as you execute the awesome PLL attacks (BTW -- this is the only type of cube that I will use for PLL attacks since EVERY OTHER CUBE will pop on one of the stupid algs).

I just got an edison and am trying the metronome thingy thanks.

Edisons, are freakin awesome...
NEVER FORGET.

Metronomes SOMETIMES work, I found that to improve MY F2L (notice how my competition average dropped almost 10 seconds) I just had to do a crapload of solves and learn SOME algorithmic F2L, then figure out my own way of solving specific cases and finding shortcuts.

The more you solve, the more you learn. That's the way it goes.

My fastest non-lucky was 17.13, even with a hard OLL/PLL case.

Learn the PLLs. They're important enough to drop your average by a good 3 seconds.
OLLs aren't AS important (I sub-20'ed without them for single solves!), but learn some REALLY simple cases that can put your count (as is mine) to around 20/57. 1/3 is good.... I think.
