OK. So I have been debating between a black type C or a type A third model without the tracks. If anybody has some experience with any one of these I would glady take any opinions =). Currently I am using a cube4you cube.

BLACK TYPE C!!!!!! AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH. I would like to issue a formal recommendation on behalf of the black Type C 3x3 based off of empirical evidence of its corner-cutting ability, speed, response to lubrication, and price. BLACK TYPE C!!!!!! AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH.

I wonder how many people here have actually tried out the New Type A II (third model aka the second model). I think that people who have not tried out the New Type A II ought not to contribute to this thread. Also there isn't such a thing as a "second model" without any tracks. If it doesn't have any tracks, then it's not a "second model" at all.

I own both. I'll take New Type A II over the Type C any day.

Here's my justification.

What I meant by without the tracks is I heard its best to not put it in.

My black DX C feels very different from my white C4Y C. The black DX C is way better.
DX C is awesome without lube, pops with a bit of lube, and awesome with lots of lube.
C4Y C is crap without lube, pops with a bit of lube, and pops with lots of lube.
C4Y D is really bad crap without lube, floaty but not fast with lube.
C4Y A is decent without lube, and decent but better with lube.
Rubik's is random.

Here is how I would rank and describe my cubes:
Black DX C: smooth, crispy, fast, controllable, durable, silky
Black DX C-old Rubik’s combo: too fast, extra crispy, not so controllable
Black DX C-C4Y A combo: fast, controllable, not durable
Black Rubik’s 25th Anniversary: extra crunchy, extra controllable
Black C4Y C: Pop, crunchy
Black C4Y A: extra creamy, sluggish, trustworthy, durable
White C4Y A: crispy, locky, smooth
White C4Y C: crunchy, variable, pop
White C4Y D: variable, crunchy, blocky, floating, slippery
Black Rubik’s cube: variable, too fast, slippery, blocky, silky, untamable, locky
Black Rubik’s cube: slow, annoying, locky

By the way, for all my DIYs, I only use the spring and screw, not the washer. The washer has no effect other than making the cube tighter.
Not sure if the adjective list is very helpful.
By variable, I mean I do not trust the quality of the cube in general. Sometimes it is good, sometimes it is bad. Some of the cubes aren't mine, but belong to my cubing club.
