But I am having trouble with my V6 mod. I did 2 mods. 1 where you glue 2 pieces to the core, and the other where you sand down the big internal edge pieces. After sanding, the outer 2 edges feel amazing. But, now the inner slice is HORRIBLE. It used to just click strongly, but now it locks up terribly, catches every few inches and constantly feels like it is going to explode. What is causing this?

The less your inner slice clicks, the more it has the tendency to misalign itself. That's what you meant by locking up, right? The pins help keep the slice aligned.

The reason the inner slice turns to mush (which is what ruined my V6) is because you sanded the big inner pieces, which seem to give the inner slices all their stability. You have to go through with the whole mod now, unfortunately. I wish I never did that, and only kept with my own mod, but too late now.

I had the exact same problem as you, every time i would turn the middle layer it would be a HUGE lockup and feel like it wanted to explode every time, just make sure you glue the pins in and everything will be fine, it worked for me.

I can't imagine doing the bump mod without a dremil. It's so tough!

Luckily I have one.

I have a long night ahead of me...

Heh... I just posted a thread about the same issues (sorta). I was hesitant about cutting/sanding off those bumps as well, but it is worth it especially if you have a dremel. I still need to do the pin mod though.

Best of luck with the mod Hadley!
