So right now i am doing Fridrich F2l and a beginner 4 look last layer. Im averaging just under a minute with this. My best unlucky time is 50 seconds. I want to get faster, but i dont have time to learn all of the fridrich last layer algorithms. Is there a way i could improve my time by learning maybe 10-15 algorithms, but not goings the whole nine yards and learning all 57 or whatever Fridrich algorithms? If so which algorithms would be key to learn?

Learn the U Perms, T perm, F perm, A Perms, and Z perm if you don't want to spend to much time memorizing. Learn the 7 edge oriented olls. Learning just these algorithms can maybe get you at sub 40 or even 30.

With what you know now you can get really fast sub 30. Arnuad uses keyhole and 4 look and averages way below 30. Learn the 7 corner OLL's, the 3 edge OLL's then A, U, H , Z, E PLL's thats under 15 right there and i'm sure you know some of them already for what you already do.
And as for not having time you just learn like 1 a day or a couple a week and eventually you will have them all learned.

Are you doing the F2L with the cross on the bottom and the edge pair-up and insert method? Or are you just inserting the corners and then inserting the edged using the algorithms?

Fridrich F2L and 4-look LL is well enough to get sub-20. It's not the method, it's the cuber.

For the last layer I only use the algorithms listed at each stage below.

The maximum amount of times a particular algorithm, listed below, must be executed before that stage if complete is denoted by {n}.

Orient Edges {3}:
- LL Cross (R' F' U' F U R)

Orient Corners {2}:
- Niklas (R U' L' U R' U' L)
- Anti-Niklas (L' U R U' L U R')
- Sune (R U R' U R U2 R')
- Anti-Sune (R U2 R' U' R U' R')

Permute Corners {2}:
- J Perm (R U2 R' U' R)(U2 L' U R' U' L) [note: Anti-Sune + Niklas]

Permute Edges {1}:
- U Perm Clockwise (R2 U y' r R' U2 r' R d R2)
- U Perm Anticlockwise (R2 d' r R' U2 r' R U' y R2)
- Z Perm (M2' U' M U2 M2' U2' M U M2')
- H Perm (R2 U2 R2 U2 R2 U R2 U2 R2 U2 R2 U')

The summation of {n} is usually between 3 and 5.

I've managed sub-30 with this method but I plan to learn more OLL and PLL to try to reduce the number of algorithms required to be executed to solve the last layer.

If you want to get faster at executing an algorithm try to transpose the notation of the one your currently using on to different faces. You may find that you can execute them faster based on personal preference.

Tim.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Timmc and AvGalen, i am interested in learning the algorithms you both suggested, but i cant figure out wchich situation i can use them in. Can anyone give me a quick walkthrough or direct me to a tutorial or something?
