It caused another wave of views/comments for my megaminx video, too. Here's a question: Even though it's quite clear my video is *not* played backwards (because the megaminx rolls away from me in the end) and I explicitly wrote that I had the official world record and linked to the corresponding WCA results page, many people still comment it's done played backwards. Why? Are people really that stupid?
Well it's not like I'm terribly furious, so no real need to relax. I'm just really wondering how people are able to think it's fake despite all the obvious evidence that it's not. What annoyed me a lot more was a comment that said the megaminx is also called "Alexander's Star" which is clearly a different puzzle. Why do people speak up when they have no idea what they're talking about? Btw never reply to or delete the comments I get, most of the time I'm just amused by their ignorance, but at the same time I'm also bewildered by it.Stefan relax!

But what about the "innocent until proven guilty" principle? It's ok if they think that something is fake, but how can they dare to publicly claim so without proof? I've called something fake, too, but only when I had good evidence and knowledge about the issue, and I provided that evidence. When something doesn't seem possible, but it's done with a little practise, people start trying to find explanations. And most of them are so simple minded that they get to the conclution that it's fake.

I know what you mean - there were thousands of people posting on nakaji's video that it was fake and done backwards, but if they only clicked on his name and used their eyes for few seconds, they could see that he has plenty of other videos with times around 10 seconds. Plus, on the right, you can see all related videos, most of which are speedsolves too. It amuses me as well. I resorted to hoping that they are joking

Then click on his profile and follow the link to his speedcubing website and realize this is serious business. There's really no legitimate excuse. That doesn't prove anything. All of Nakajima's videos could be faked.

That might make sense if we're talking about videos, records, competition results etc. But on his website he explains solutions. So you look at it, and either you understand it (and realize his skill is real) or you don't (and realize you're not qualified to judge), and in neither case you're going to boldly claim it's all fake.He could have faked every single speedcubing site ever.
I'm curious how people work.On another thought, who cares what they think?
Yes, I think that's the core problem. People don't put enough time and effort into investigating stuff before judging it. I believe that, ironically, real "skeptics" wouldn't call Yu's video fake, because they'd either put sufficient effort into it to realize it's real, or decide they don't know enough about it and keep their mouth shut.Their comments are totally un-thought.
