hey marvin at the german open you had my white mefferts. and you said that you did with this cube your personal best. Mefferts has a cheap twin set with the white and black cube.

Monkeydude1313 has vids on them. Don't get a Mefferts, the tiles are illegal for WCA competitions. Get a C4Y brand 4x4

I have small hands, and I still prefer mefferts. They aren't that bad to handle. I'd say mefferts is better than eastsheen, but only just.

I have a black mefferts. Its pretty stiff when you first get it, but after some lubing and breaking in, its amazing. If you get a mefferts, you might want to take off the tiles and re-glue them on yourself, because the adhesive on the tiles aren't very reliable

Shut up already.

Why are you so rude to rcnrcn927?

According to WCA regulation "3f", tiles must not exceed 1.5 mm. I don't understand why the rule exists at all, or why it gets ignored if the Mefferts tiles happen to exceed 1.5 mm. (I don't have one, so I cannot measure the tiles.)

I've heard Mefferts is better, but the tiles are illegal for competitions. If you could get a stickered mefferts or put cubesmith tiles on it, go for it.
Best get a C4Y. I would rather have a more common brand, but the tiles are illegal for competitions. If you could get a stickered one from Mefferts.com, where shipping might be cheaper, that might be good. You could also, if you were really rigorous, try to replace the Mefferts tiles with Cubesmith ones.

That's why...

I have measured mine and they appear to be ≥1.5mm, so they are competition legal (excluding BLD because of the logos).
rcnrcn927, please stop spouting.

Regulation 3l clearly says you can't have more than one logo. It doesn't say anything about this being required only because of BLD. It's a kind of silly rule to enforce in this case, which is why pretty much all delegates/judges have decided to allow them. But it doesn't change the fact that the Meffert's cubes as shipped are clearly illegal according to the letter of the regulations.

Hopefully the rules will be changed next year to reflect this. Perhaps this is such a messy issue that it would warrant a change of the rules now, despite it being mid-year.
