Hey I am new to speedcubing lol or well i guess what i am doing is fast for me. I started along time ago with beginner method and could solve it in 1:26 and now recently I am getting bak into it and now know the OLL and PLL, but am still having trouble with the F2L part. My new best time is 57 sec and i just got a diy cube today. Is there any advice you guys could give me for the F2L stage?

Give us some info about you. Do you know your time for executing the F2L stage only? How do you perform F2L (algorithms memorized or intuitively)? Etc..

Exactly, is there a particular method you would like to learn? How do you solve it now?

well right now i solve the white cross and then I have to put in the corner and edge pieces separatly because i cannot get the F2L to work out because it always seems to mess up my other edges once i get to the 4th edge. Then after this i use the OLL and PLL

If you want to learn intuitive F2L there are plenty of videos online, badmephisto makes a good intuitive F2L video. I assume you are using 2 Look OLL/PLL, no need to change that until sub 30 seconds in my opinion. practice practice practice F2L.

when i clicked submit your post popped up at the same time dougbenham, didn't mean to re-state what you already said about the videos

there is a feature on the site called edit -_-

lol its okay. but if you feel that embarrassed all you have to do is edit your post and remove the stuff you said.

i actually clicked edit, made the changes then clicked Submit instead of save so it made another post! :( it must be too late or something

The best advice are to GO SLOW. Mix your practice with speedsolves where you go full speed and solves where you spend all the time available building the cross and doing the F2L. Try to put down pairs from different angles and using different methods. (Edge control)

And as Macky would say: GO SLOW, and LOOK AHEAD

I personally divide cubing in 3 parts:
-Speedcubing; I try to solve cube using all my knowledge and skills as fast as i can. In this part i only use things that i know, i dont make "on the fly"-approaches to achieve something.
-Training; as name tells i try learn new things or new ways to achieve something (OLL's, PLL's, Basic F2L, Advanced F2L, etc.)
-Practising; well, almost same as training but i make that as fluent motion and SLOW same time looking ahead.

Hope this helps :)
