HELP! I am very new to cubing and have been solving for a few months now. I am using the basic Rubik’s speed cube. I decided to try the center cap removed challenge to test myself. I scramble without the caps and solved- and it got into an unsolvable position! I used the beginner method with nothing changed except the caps. What did I do?!

The best way for you is just to scramble and solve until the cube is solved

Yeah, you have shifted centers. This illustrates your "problem":
 Twizzle link
 Setup
x2 y' B' D' F R' D2 L U B' D2 F2 D' L' D R F U'
 Moves
U F' R' D' L D F2 D2 B U' L' D2 R F' D B

As others say, there are easier algs to solve such a parity case in a void cube (void cube is a 3x3 with no marked centers, sometimes physically missing centers, look it up, it's a fun variant of the 3x3).

The same thing happened to me last year when I was a beginner. A friend re-arranged the center caps on my Qiyi Warrior S, but accidently put them back in the right order but they were actually shifted over from their actual positions, so I ended up very confused with 2 edge pieces swapped.

Thanks! My friend and I were baffled. This helps a lot!

Thanks so much! This helped a lot. This gave me the answers I needed!
