I am a 16 year old cuber from Turkey. I used play around with my Nexcube that sells for 5 USD. I never had any excellent cubes so I decided to save up some money and bought the new GAN 15 special edition for 80 USD. I got my hands on the cube on 19th of February and I was very excited to play with it. I never got my hands off the cube until yesterday, when I heard some strange noises coming from inside of the cube.

I had never opened the cube before that, but I decided to take a look in order to fix the problem. Once I made my inspection and had found nothing wrong, I began reassembling the cube only for its core to break.

The truth is, I am sure I had not used excess force throughout the assembly, so I do not understand why it happened. Nevertheless, I had spent my savings and gifts from my parents to purchase this cube. I am in no situation to buy another cube due to my financial situation and the reaction I would get from my family. Keep in mind that 80 USD is basically my monthly allowance, i buy lunch everyday with that money.

I am devastated. Really. The fact that I had spent my monthly allowance on this cube made it more than just a puzzle for me. I waited for the cube to arrive from China for 12 days, checking on it every single day. I was extremely happy when I had it in my hands. Likewise, I almost broke down to tears when it broke.

Anyhow, I would appreciate if anybody has any suggestions on how I could repair this cube or any other alternatives. I do not know what I have to do from this point on. Thank you.

Where did you buy it? You may be able to get a refund. This seems like one of the rare occurences with GAN cubes.

Straight from a $5 to an $80 cube...
Really though, I am so sorry. From a person who typically waits 2-4 weeks for cubes, the excitement of getting home after school and seeing a package on your doorstep is phenomenal.
From a person who also saves up for their cubes, I would also be devasted in that situation; you're not alone.
As Caleb also said, try contacting the store you bought it from and see if they will refund it.

Contact the store you brought it from immediately. They could refund you or send you a replacement

You could probably glue the core back together or contact gan or the cubicle for a replacement core
I bought the cube from GAN's official store. I emailed them and I am waiting for a response, but I fear that they wont provide me with a new core for whatever reason. Nevertheless, the glue thing is something I had not thought about while writing this, so that's a good suggestion. I honestly never glued something this small and light together and I'm afraid I'll ruin the mechanism, do you guys have any advice?

To be fair I always liked these types of puzzles for years. I used to buy cheap 50 lira (1.5 usd) cubes and sell them at school for 100 liras just because I found an extremely cheap bazaar. I have a kilominx and a 4x4 too.

Noting I never had any great cubes, I figured that the 12 USD shipping was outrageous if I were to buy a better cube so I saved up to just buy the best one available and get free shipping. That way I would never buy a 3x3 again and pay another shipping fee.

Might not have been the most rational thing I admit

But **** man, I just wish *that* had not happened. Thank you for your understanding though...
