Hey all, I'm still pretty new to solving the cube. I bought the 3x3 Rubik's Coach cube with training stickers around Black Friday last year and learnt the Beginner method through it, but I haven't yet advanced from there so my solve time is still around a minute. I'm a little nervous to change things up since what I know works, albeit slowly!
I really want to get a bit faster as I very much enjoy using my Gan smart cubes on the GanCube app. It's been very disheartening to want to join in the new(ish) tournament games but to only lose the special currency I want to amass because I keep getting timed out in the Individual tournament because the <60s division I'm in also includes people who are waaay under 60 seconds and I'm usually only *just* under! That said, I did used to get timed out in the team tournaments, and I no longer do, (even if I still seldom win!) so I know that where there's a will there's a way, I just suspect that in order to get very much quicker I need to learn more efficient algorithms rather than just speed up more. I bought some training cubes, I just need to sit and train on them!
I really love how solving a cube scratches my puzzle itch. I recently bought a Gan 251 UI cube as I wanted to figure out how to solve the 2x2 in the hopes I could then recognise some over-arching concepts that might help me to solve cubes of any size, but so far it has me flummoxed, so I think solving a 7x7 might be a little way off for me yet!! But that's my other goal - to learn how to solve a cube of any size.
