SS Competition Results
So this is happening at a comp I'm going to this weekend-

This competition is kindly sponsored by Speedcubing.org. Daniel from Speedcubing.org will be organising a special experimental event. On Saturday lunchtime you will all receive a scramble, Daniel will have FMC style sheets with the scramble and scramble image on them and he will also post the scramble in the UKCA discord server. The challenge is to learn and practice the scramble, as on Sunday lunchtime you will have ONE attempt to solve a cube with that scramble as quickly as possible. In the time between Saturday and Sunday lunchtime you can use whatever tools you like to find the shortest and easiest to execute solution, but the pressure will be on when it comes to Sunday as you will only have one attempt to get a fast solve time!

What would be the best strategy? Rn it might just be memorising the optimal solution

I would think maybe not going completely optimal bc that could be harder to execute fast, maybe try to find a rly short and fast CFOP solution that’s kinda lucky..idk
I was thinking that too. It might not be the very fastest option, but it's hardest to mess up, and your fingers will already be familiar with the substeps. SpeedCubeDB has a scramble analyzer tool that can help you find a lucky CFOP solution.

My other idea is to use Trangium's batch solver to find a solution that's both efficient and ergonomic, using the MCC or ESQ options.

I have no clue how fingertrickable the optimal solutions are for a scramble, but at least try to find a good solution with wide moves and such, finding one would be a huge advantage.
In case they are not fingertrickable at all, I’d suggest doing variants of popular methods that failed/are not commonly used because they require inhumanly large algsets, since you only need to know the one alg that comes up in the solve anyway.

I wish the comp organizers in my area would do cool stuff like this too I’m so jealous

Oh yeah I didn’t even think about that, you could literally just learn the 1LLL alg for that one case
