megaminx OLL strategy

hey guys

So... I'm practicing megaminx OLL with my trainer

Megaminx LL Trainer with Bluetooth Support

And I noticed that during edge orientation step I can influence corners depending of the alg I use

for adjacent EO (F U' R U R' F') you solve headlights on the right

So I will do the mirror if I have at least a corner in that "headlights" configuration

For example, in this case I would get a sune case.

this one will lead me to 2 corner case

because I know one corner will be solved and the other one will be twisted and the other corners won't be affected so I'm guaranteed to have unoriented 2 corners case

I think you get the idea


For 2 edges opposite I am using F R U R' U' F' and R U R' U' R' F R F'. they twist a pair of corners in one direction for one case and the opposite direction for the other




So I was thinking about a system where I would use certain olls to manipulate corners and get an easier oll at the end, like a sune case

It would be like a 2 alg combo for each case but without having to memorize each pattern fully, only certain partial corner patterns

Can any1 help improve this method?
