He'll have the PR single at some point? A matter of time before he gets a 4 or 5 mover?
(yeah I saw the stucube vid... odds are miniscule but still possible).

What's stopping Yiheng from not filming his 2x2 solves? Obviously it would be pretty suspicious and I'm not saying it would be the most upright thing to do, but am I right that from the current regulations, it would have allowed basically all his removed WRs to stand? I'm not the biggest expert on sliding, but I probably know more about cubing than the average judge, and I could not tell that anything was wrong when I watched the video at full speed. So it seems like the WCA would have to accept a WR at face value even if people suspected foul play if there were no video, and it would then just destroy the value of the 2x2 WR immediately.

He can't choose to record or not, because he's too known and everyone there records him, strangers, cube root, and other cubers, it's impossible to not have his solves on camera

That's true. I'm not familiar with the Chinese cubing community, but my intuition is that if his family asked that he not be filmed, it's not impossible that people would respect that. Again, obviously not the best thing to do, but is the WCA going to ban/penalize him for doing that?
In general, between sliding and misscrambles, it seems like the number of incidents that have happened means there's a non-negligible advantage to not having your solves on camera, which is a pretty perverse incentive.

That's why I think the WCA should require WR/CR solves to be filmed to be certified. Unlike 15-20 years ago, pretty much everyone (competitor, friend, parent) has a phone or recording device nowadays, and record holders should be held to a realistically more stringent standard. Having a WR (not including FMC obviously which isn't a speed event) not on video would be highly suspicious. We almost had that situation with the Yusheng Du 3.47. That would've been a disaster and a lingering suspicion for years.
