I keep my YuXin 15x15 at work, and I fidget with it whenever I'm waiting for my code to build. I've solved it a handful of times using reduction, once with centers-last (via hundreds of commutators), and once layer-by-layer (again, with hundreds of commutators).

I'm looking for more fun/silly ways I can solve this cube, preferably that don't require a lot of heavy thought. Any ideas?

Reduction variants like Yau, Hoya, and Meyer would be very similar to what you've done. K4 is like LBL but with a Yau/Meyer start---build a cross or first layer and centers, then switch to direct solving with tons of commutators for last layer. There are some fun F(n-1)L tricks you could try like keyhole or grouping two or more pieces to solve at once.

Getting further off the beaten track, I think OBLBL is pretty fun. You start by making two opposite centers and expanding one into a Roux block, then extend that block one slice at a time until you have two faces left and then pair up the remaining 7 edges for 3x3 stage.

There are a multiple direct solving methods based on Roux, such as Lewis and QTPI, which also end in various types of commutator finishes.

Triforce looks interesting, but I've never tried it.

A silly idea is to reduce it to a smaller nxn besides 3x3. For example, there are several different ways to reduce it to a 5x5.
