I'm wondering how this man can still be on the WCA and be the personal videographer of these young chinese cubers. Also I'm a bit weirded out that this situation is not widespread, and not many people really know about what has happent with CubeRoot.

He isn't in an offical role, but he is a big part of the chinese cubing comnunity.

Because this incident happened in a competition, I think this could be enough for CubeRoot to be banned.

I guess as the cubing community grows, there might be more people who are outright wrong.

But it is important to allow them to engage with the community, atleast the positive parts.

For example, we do need the high quality footage and active reconstructions provided by Ruimin.

This is so stupid. Like I know he paid a 12 year old 6 years ago when he was 25 for ‘pictures’. But why TF are you putting a mic on a female competitor who, let’s be honest is also probably underage. I have no idea why anyone would do that and what they would even gain from the situation, like an audio of heavy nervous breathing? Honestly reminds me of those guys in China putting pinhole cameras in their exes’ bedrooms for secret filming.

I know lots of people know about his actions, but not enough is known about his true self in the wider community. His actions are borderline criminal and honestly some kind of action must be taken against him. At this point it’s unforgivable and definitely not one little mistake. Get f****ed Ruimin

Although this incident happened about 6 years ago is something to point out about him. But really though how many other interactions like this one has happened since the first one though? That's an even bigger concern to look at. Look at it this way "Don't hate one someone just because of one stupid incident that happened years ago." This is also bring up news about him that most of the community doesn't know about. It should only be a concern if he's giving many red flags about being a P3do at comps.
