I have a competition coming up with a single multi blind attempt.

How do I guarantee good accuracy and 0% chance of a blow out?

A few strategies are to do 2-3 cubes lesser cubes than my peak recent capacity, 25 cubes

Or 2-3 cubes lesser cubes than my peak all-time capacity, 30-33 cubes

Or 2-3 cubes lesser cubes than my global capacity, 16-18 cubes.

I know I can try out all options and see what works, but it would be nice to have some insight on this! 😁

Your peaks seem to be outliers, which is reasonable, so from the options given 2-3 cubes less than global capacity makes a lot of sense if your aim is to guarantee a solid result.

Looking at your WCA profile you have a PR of 21 points, but your recent attempts have all been out of 15 or 16.

How happy would you be with 14/14?

Yeah fair point!

The number of cubes I do have reduced as I use letter quads now instead of letter pairs. It would be faster in the long run, but for now I need extra passes to be familiar with the memo.

14/14 sounds satisfying as it is perfect N/N score. At the end of the day, I feel 18/22 attempt is more riskier and I will take 14/14 attempt.

That being said, aiming for N/N is extremely hard, and it is always good to do more number of cubes expecting that we would be producing a few DNFs.

It might be useful to do some practice at home with letter quads, but if letter pairs are faster for you then shouldn't you be using them in comp for better results? Doing 30+ cubes is a huge difference from 15-16
