CubeIndex - the next Essential Cubing Platform

Would you use a Price Tracking feature on CubeIndex?

  • Yes – I’d love to track prices and get alerts

    Votes: 2 66.7%
  • Maybe – Sounds cool, depends on how it's done

    Votes: 1 33.3%
  • No – I wouldn’t really use it

    Votes: 0 0.0%

  • Poll closed .
I have returned with a stupid ahhh idea in attempt to claim that achievement.

This was inspired by @Saterz_ comment on how they want this to be like collecting pokemon.

You can battle other users because your cubes will have stats.

*the higher the rarer

E.g Gan 460 v1 vs Rubiks 4x4
Gan 460 :
Corner cutting = 1
Speed = 1
Smoothness = 1
Pops = 1*
Lock ups = 1*
Controllability = 1

Rubiks 4x4 :
Corner cutting = 10
Speed = 10
Smoothness = 10
Pops = 10*
Lock ups = 10*
Controllability = 10

Rubiks 4x4 wins on all variables !
(Note - this is not an accurate description of the cubes, this is an example that should be taken seriously since the Rubiks 4x4 is not good and @That0newe1rdo will not be held responsible for the emotional distress for the realisation Gan has a really bad cube that should be burned in a ditch and blown to smithereens)
even if this wont happen, you could still allow users to rate cubes' overall rating based on these things, rather then js a star system.

This could be a good April Fools joke (not your idea but how I could implement it)

Yeah had plans for that.

You can now rate cubes directly on CubeIndex!

This update is part of a two-phase rollout for the new rating system:

Phase 1 – Basic Ratings (Now Live)
You can now rate any cube on a simple 1 to 5 star scale. Quick, easy, and helps others get a general idea of what’s good!

Phase 2 – Full Reviews (Coming Soon!)
In the next phase, you’ll be able to:
- Write full reviews to share your thoughts, opinions, and experiences with a cube
- Rate specific categories like speed, control, corner-cutting, etc.

These detailed reviews will be separate from the main 5-star rating and won’t affect the cube’s overall score; they’ll just offer deeper insights for those who want more info!

Also in this update:
- You can now suggest features and report bugs directly from CubeIndex; no need to go through Discord!
- Plus, a round of general improvements to make the app smoother and better for everyone

CubeIndex just got a big performance upgrade!
You’ll now experience faster load times, smoother transitions, and overall better responsiveness across the site.

Alongside that, we’ve fixed an annoying bug on the Explore page where the “Add to Collection” and “Rate Cube” modals would appear behind the cube cards. They now behave properly and display above all content as expected.

Thank you for your continued support and bug reports!

Poll – Would you use a Price Tracking feature on CubeIndex?

We're thinking of adding a feature that lets you track cube prices over time and get notified when the price drops on supported vendors.

Would you find this useful?

Respond to the poll at the top of the thread

So sad i never got that achievemnt since i couldnt ccontribue enough.
The achievement is still unlockable for your info. I don't think I will ever make it unlockable.

EDIT:
Love how the website is going si far !
Thanks a lot, it's thanks to people like you that I get the force of working on this. I know I'm not working for nothing at the end.

Big Improvements to Cube Pages & Vendor Browsing!

We just dropped a fresh update to CubeIndex.

The cube detail page has been completely reorganized. Instead of everything being crammed into one view, you’ll now find dedicated pages for the overview, price tracking, and ratings. And yes, there’s now a beautiful price evolution chart so you can see how prices change over time! The store section also got a nice UI upgrade to make it easier to compare vendors at a glance.

On the vendor side, the explore page is now faster and more user-friendly. You can search, scroll through paginated results, and enjoy upgraded vendor cards with more details and a cleaner design.

As always, if you spot a bug or have an idea to make things even better, let us know here:

Early Collector Achievement is Back (For Now)!

The Early Collector achievement is available once again; and this time, it’ll stay unlockable until the official release of CubeIndex!

The unlock condition has changed:
To earn it, simply add at least one cube to your collection.

Don’t miss your chance to be part of CubeIndex history before the full launch!

Those who had already obtained the achievement will not lose it even if they haven't added any cube to their collection.
