My understanding from the pictures and videos I've seen is that it has a 20 magnet ballcore with 8 corner to core magnets and 12 edge to core magnets. So 20 in the ballcore, 20 that interface with the ballcore, for 40 "ball core positioning magnets."

The fact that the WRM 2021 Maglev can give slightly worse if not exactly the same results as modern Moyu cubes shows that these aren't 'improvements', they're selling points.
