Rubik's made a speedcube?!

Rubik has attempted a few speed cubes over the years, with a varying range of success.
this is the first decent one afaict. the last one didn't have magnets?
honestly if they sold a meilong it'd be better performance but feel really light and cheap. I used one that I have now lost at college and it's shocking how light it is but somehow it still turns well

I guess it depends on what you consider 'decent' and if you take into account the time period it released. The Rubik DIY cube was my main for about 4-5 months. Though the center caps were obnoxious and required pieces of paper under them to stop them from falling out. I forget what year it released, but I remember being happy that I could get decent performance out of a puzzle that I didn't need to Frankenstein together.

This the 3rd Rubik's Speed, all 3 in partnership with Gan.
1st was in 2018, tiled, non magnetic.
2nd was in 2020, tiled, magnetic.
3rd, this one.

This is the fourth.

They had another model a decade or so ago that was based on the 2.0. It was a crunchy mess.
