Basically what happened was, I was talking to one of my friends, and he said the 5th scramble was trash, but when I got it, it was really good. I had a 1 move cross on it!

That made me suspect that a miss scramble was likely, so I asked them to check it. (Only for that one solve though) It turned out I was right, and I got an extra.
How do delegates even check scrambles? What proof is there that someone got some scramble if the cube is already solved? Do they have to use video footage? If so, how do they do it if no one recorded the solves?

Yes, they have to use video footage. If that is not available, the scramble can only be checked if the competitor has not done a turn on it.

Your friend can’t talk about scrambles while waiting. Does he know about that regulation?

5th solve though. Even if it was the first solve, they might have talked about it after the round. That’s legal
Yes, but even if his friend completed the round, the friend is not allowed to disclose any information about scrambles to anyone who hasn’t finished the round yet.

Hey, how’d Wall Street A go? How do you think you did?
The comp went pretty well for clock. I got my first official sub-9 average, and now am top 2000 for clock!

3BLD didn’t go well (triple DNF) and I came 3 edges off on the last attempt

For 6x6 it was on the wire to make cutoff, but in 3x3 stage, I miss slotted, then I got OLL parity, and then I thought I had PLL parity, so I did that, then I got PLL parity again because I misrecognized the first time.

I felt pretty gutted after that.

2x2 final scrambles were insane, so I regret not going to B.

Ok, so I've been doing a lot of FMC lately, and have gotten back into the event.

I think I am now averaging sub-35 currently.

The main issue in my solves previously was that I couldn't find a good continuation after making a 2x2x3 block if the edges were mostly bad. I tended to not like the approach of doing EO during 2x2x3, but often it was nessecary.

Because of this, I tried doing EO starts. (Where I start the solve with EO.)

What I found was that, very often, a lot of the blockbuilding techniques fall into place, and my F2L-1 solutions end up being a lot better. My solves were overall more efficient.

Because of this, I am now averaging sub-35.

I did 4 solves today, and got 33, 32, 33, and 35 respectively. This gave me a PB mean of 32.67, and a PB average of 5 of 33.67. (The average of 5 will probably improve when I do another attempt.)

no no no you cant beat me thats illegal ima learn dr and htr and get sub 21 global💀

What do you currently average?

I DNFed the last solve lmao

T-WR5 if in comp, congrats!

And @Discomantis gets……the sub-5!!! Officially!!!

Okay, so after getting decent pyramunx results, I’ve decided to get into square-1.

Skewb and square-1 are the only fast events that I have not gotten into yet, and I want to change that by getting better at square-1.

What I have been doing is learning all the 10 cube shapes where scallop shape is on top. This was I can just make scallop shape on top and then do CS from there, making for a pretty efficient Cubeshape, without learning all of the algorithms. Progress so far has been great, and I have learned 8/10 of the algorithms nessecary.

Once I finish this, I will start to adopt this cubeshape method and put it into solves. This should fix my cubeshape.

From there, I am planning to learn some nessecary EO’s, and maybe even full EO if I am up to it. I will also learn all CP algorithms, and will also try to find a better EP solving method.

I also need to learn a better parity algorithm. The one I use is fast but messes up corners and edges.

anyway, cubeshape has been the worst part of my solve by far, so I hope to see some improvement soon!

@Discomantis hasnt mentioned this yet (he’s so humble like that) but he got a very fun PB average and a very good single that may or may not be PB on Squan a couple days ago after I kindly gave him a parity bootcamp

He messed up parity twice on the 3rd solve, but other than that, it was a very good average.
