Speedcubedb’s trainer is good, but I prefer CSTimer’s personally. That way, I don’ have to change websites, and you can customize which cases you get by clicking the little settings wheel on the top where the scramble is. I like it, but I understand not everyone uses CSTimer, so there’s that.
The only bad part is that if you go to a different sessions and then back to the specific case section, you have to manually choose which cases you wanted to grind again
I just realized my last name is a part of Tymon's last name, which obviously means that I will become the greatest cuber of all time. Tymon Kolasinski. It obviously means that Tymon saw how good I was at cubing, and changed his last name to mine (but a bit different so no one notices). He obviously did this because I was significantly better than him, and wanted my last name to motivate him to become better at cubing and eventually get the WRs. This was all done in my name

What should I do to get sub-15 on 3x3 before my comp? I global 23 seconds. It's probably just that my F2L sucks, so should I just do untimed solves and "slow down, look ahead"?

Yep, no problem. You could also look at how you solve each F2L pair. Before you rotate to solve, ask yourself if you can solve it rotation-less. You’ll find that a lot of F2L pairs can be solved without rotating, and without sacrificing speed and efficiency.

Okay, I looked at all of them. I can’t do a super in-depth critique right now, but I will give you the main “issues” I found, and a way to fix them:
1: Regrips. You regrip a lot, especially during F2L. This is where untimed solves can help, they can help with you realizing you don’t need to regrip for every pair that you do.
2: Cross: I think you did in some solves, but make sure to plan all of the cross in inspection. This will save you loads of time as you don’t have to do 2-3 cross edges, and then waste 2 seconds looking for the other one. How to fix: Start a CsTimer session where’s you just have regular 3x3 scrambles, and time yourself doing cross. Make sure that during this session you plan your entire cross in inspection.
3: Weird rotations: You don’t rotate that much at all, which is great. However, I noticed that sometimes, you tilt the whole cube sideways, usually if you are looking for that last cross piece. That wastes a lot of time and is unnecessary, especially if you plan the cross in inspection . How to fix: Force yourself to not do those kind of rotations.
4: Turning: Your turning, at least in these solves, is very rough. You lock up quite a few times, thus increasing your time. How to fix: Untimed solves. Do them focusing on smooth turning. Even if you have to start at a slow pace, make sure you do your untimed solves with smooth turning.
4b: Learn double flicks. I know I used to think they wouldn’t help that much, but I was wrong. They help a ton. Learn them and implement them first in your untimed solves, and then your normal, timed solves will greatly improve. Make sure to also keep doing those untimed solves focusing on smooth turning.
5: Rotations during last layer: I see this in a lot of cubers, so you’re not the only one, but you will need to stop on rotating to recognize OLL/PLL cases. In some solves it looks like you didn’t even need to do that, but did it anyway because of habit. It is a huge waste of time, but thankfully, easy to fix. How to fix: Well, just force yourself not to rotate to recognize OLL/PLL cases. If you want, you can put a box of some sort, such as the box your cube came in, under, and slightly behind your cube when you solve. That way, if you rotate, you’ll hit the box, and you don’t want to do that. This can also help with rotation problems in general, but I would say to focus on your rotations to recognize cases. You need to eliminate those. One other thing you can start learning is 2-sided PLL/OLL recognition. Every PLL/OLL can be recognized by looking at just 2 sides, max. For example, for a Jb perm (the good, fast one), you should be able to recognize it instantly (eventually), and not have to line up the blocks to recognize it. Same goes with every PLL, start learning some easy cases now, such as that Jb perm, and then keep adding to that. Same goes for OLL when you end up learning that.
That’s it! It’s not super in-depth, but I gave you the best tips I could for what you need to improve on.
Is your message so long that I can only see the PS when quoting XD. Thanks! I bought it from amazon and replaced the switches with Akko cream yellow V3s thatI lubed myself.
I watched the video back after reading your critique, and I agree about my rotations to look at other sides. I do try to plan the entirity of the cross, but like you saw, it doesn't always happen. I also noticed that I didn't rotate during f2l much in this ao5, but I normally do a lot. I often use 2 rotations for a single pair, sometimes three. I do insert into the back slot, but there are still some corner-edge combinations that force me to use multiple rotations.
I'll try to train my 1 sided recog for LL, do you recommend that I use a website, like https://www.pllquiz.com/
I might lube my cube when I get back home (currently on vacation), my turning is really rough, and the cube doesn't help that.

Ah okay, then yes, you need to worn on those F2L rotations as well. A rule of thumb is to never rotate more than twice for a pair, and if you are, then that means you’re probably doing something wrong. Feel free to post some pictures of the cases you need most help with, and I’ll tell you what I recommend is best to solve them.
Yeah, that seems good, but you could also do it on your own cube if you want. I would probably start on the physical cube first just to familiarize yourself, and then use that website, but that is just what I would do.

It actually wasn't selection bias: I wa staking a random ao5 so that people can critique (I normally never film solves) and it happened to be a PB. I'll try to do another though. My f2l in these solves surprisingly didn't have many rotations.
Registration for my comp opened two days ago, and I'm wondering whether it's worth it to register for 6x6. I don't have a good 6x6 (some cheap sticker less one I got while on vacation) and average 10 minutes (but I only have 5 solves in my session). Should I buy a good 6x6 and do it at the comp, or should I just not do the event since 1. I don't like big cubes bigger than 4x4 and 2. cutoff is twice as fast as I average (4 minutes)
I've been focusing on 3bld right now, and have also decided not to do 6x6 and the comp. Once I get better at 3bld (sub-1 preferably!) I'll focus on 3x3 and improving my f2l by learning the proper solutions for every case. Watching tymons video about why you aren't improving at F2L really motivated me to learn these and practice them!
A lot has happened in the last three days. I broke my PB single three times, with my new PB being 13.99. My old one was 15.07 and I had it for almost four months (since March 6th). I also got a sub 20 ao12!

I also made a reconstruction here. Oh yeah, and 19.49 ao12!
Results are already posted for the competition (they were posted in the morning the day after). I beat my PRs for everything (not that much considering my only event prior to this competition was 3x3).
For 3x3: I got two sixteen second singles (old pr was 19). I was so close to getting a sub 20 ao5 in second round, but I +2ed a 19 to a 21 and got a 20.08 average instead. (sorry @ProStar)
For 4x4: I made 1:30 cutoff easily, and got a 1:23 average. It would've been 1:15 but I had an internal pop and then a ton of super annoying lockups/pops. I also got a 1:04 single which is overall PB and so close to sub 1.
For 3bld: I triple dnfed like all the cool kids (@JDAW6@Curunír)
EDIT: I also bought some things from the speedcubeshop competition booth. I got the diansheng FTO, a stackmat timer, and the cable for connecting it to my computer. I've also ordered a QiYi clock, shapes v2 mat, shapes v2 cube cover, and shapes v2 timer overlay (which they did not have at the competition). Yes, I do know that I really like shapes v2.
I've already learned how to solve my FTO and currently have a PB of 2:38 after 16 solves. Hoping for sub 1 sometime soon!
