I'm assuming Tingman is going to make a video or a community post soon about this, just don't know when

But either way pretty sad, I thought they were financially doing well, and I thought they were the 3rd most financially successful cube store worldwide, but I guess I was wrong

Popular doesn’t mean financially successful

Well I sponsor speedygonecuber actually. If we are listing daily puzzles sponsorees then there are many more like cuberazn and teboecubes, they also sponsored one random half as interesting video (although it's probably not that random when you actually think about the timing)

What a fluff video that ultimately didn’t accomplish much of anything. In 15 minutes he changed the website layout and held a big sale. It reminds me of The Profit but speedrun and not really putting that much personal effort into trying to help the business. It also may just be me, but the interactions seemed very scripted, which if true is pretty lame. I’d be interested to hear Billy’s perspective on the video, working with Davie, and how it affected DailyPuzzles, since these are just surface level observations/assumptions by me.

Oh my fauldt lol

It is sad to watch daily puzzle close. accept the deals are pretty nice as 60% of everything is a really good deal saw a 70 dollar wailing for 30 dollars. But everything is sold out. But back to the subject, do want to know how they went bankrupt though was it just poor finance choices?

I will speculate that shipping from China is really cheap and fast, probably only a week or two versus one to two months to US. There's still a market for a domestic warehouse, though.

The impression I get is that they invested massively in a really big warehouse which didn't work out and were then tied into the contract for that and they borrowed loads of money to finance that as well as competition sponsorships and marketing and in the end it just didn't work and couldn't be repaid.

I don't know if this is true, but according to the Reddit post about DailyPuzzles closing, comments linking to what is supposedly Billy's reddit account and saying it shows some very sketchy financials and how he was supposedly using business funds for gambling and stock trading. A comment by him trying to say his current situation isn't because of the gambling and stock trading got downvoted.

I saw this too, never thought billy to be the gambling type.

Did his response imply that he never used business funds for personal use (like gambling or stock trading), or that he did do that but it wasn’t the reason DailyPuzzles went under?
