Being Sub-12 On 3x3 and Sub 3 on 2x2

Does anyone have any tips on being sub 12? I really wanted to be sub 15 for my next competition
Also, I also need help with being sub 3 on 2x2 as well so does anyone know how to do this?
full oll and pll, lookahead and 6+ tps. Simple (edit the simple is a joke, ig y’all of u don’t have a sense of humour)

I'm not sub-15, but what I can tell you is this

1. Try to have good planning for future steps. If you can try to plan as much as you can while inserting a cross edge or a pair, that would be beneficial.
2. Know your algs. Try to learn all the algs for your method and drill those as a warmup to your solving sessions.

For sub-3 2x2, you will need:

1. Try to learn CLL and/or EG algs. Those will help you get some nice times in your averages.
2. Try to be efficient. Don't make a ton of rotations in 2x2 as it will make your times even slower.
3. Keep your TPS up.

Hot take considering I'm not this fast, but that's just my thoughts.

For being faster on 3x3 (as someone who isn't really that fast) here is my advice:
1. Don't rotate during cross.
2. Reduce rotations during f2l. This is a problem that I also have but a simple way to reduce some rotations is different inserts with this post by @Filipe Teixeira being useful.
3. Untimed solves. I don't like deliberate practice but doing some untimed solves when traveling or something can help.
4. Learn the right fingertricks if you haven't. When I learned algs I used a sheet and just did the moves. I learned these when I was much slower so I had some really bad fingertricks. I relearned fingertricks for all my plls and my worse olls which helped a ton.
5. Do a couple of multiphase solves. Do some multiphase solves and enter them into the solve splits tool to see where you need to improve.

3x3
learning how to plan your full cross (if you dont already)
tracing the next pair while doing the current pair,
OLL prediction helps (just simple stuff, like if you are gonna get Dot, L shape, or Corners only)
PLL recog and execution can be a shot in the foot too, if you dont work on them, or arent good
for 2x2 i cant help because im not even sub 5, but i dont like 2x2
(i have a couple of 11 avo12s)
Roux is just good blockbuilding and lookahead, as far as i know

First, learn CLL if you haven’t already. Make sure to use good algorithms.

Here is a good CLL tutorial playlist:

Then, make sure that your layers are very efficient.

Watching example solves helps with this. I will also link some videos that help with efficiency below.

This is a CLL ao12 example solve by a really good 2x2er:

This is another video by the same cuber:

Woaj please don’t use LbL for sub4 use oretga
In my opinion it is better because you can potentially get skips with LBL. LBL also doesn't have any rotations, unlike with ortega where you either have to switch angles that you do your face solution from or have to rotate during last layer.

If you cannot find a good layer solution then go with ortega but in general lbl is better than ortega in my opinion

I agree with this statement
I still use LBL on most of my solves (and got a sub-2 with it a few times)

I agree that LbL is better, ortega is kinda akward unless you actually know all the diff layer algs
