gan 251 m leap uv is 10000% worth it if you are pretty fast. I average 3.9-4.2
I bought the pro because most people said the magnets were better on the pro, i.e, lots of people think the leap’s magnets are way too strong on even the weakest setting. Either way though, I think the Gan 2x2s are really worth it, if like you said, are pretty fast at the event. I just wish the Pro version could have come UV coated as well.

I dropped my cube so many times and I don't know if this is related but now some of my centers (mainly the red center) are loosening by themselves.
Edit: And also sanding and lubing a dollar store cube (it disassembled by itself a lot and I got lube on my table)

My biggest amateur cubing mistake is when I bought a 10x10, I didn't know how to put pieces back together, so when it popped, I would leave the piece where it was.

I ended up getting so many pieces to fall out that eventually, whilst on the school bus, I lost an edge piece and sooooooooooo many pieces fell out that I decided to throw the cube away.
