That’s his sweatshirt with the Gan logo and that other logoNow that I’m rewatching the video, it’s so pixelated, are we even sure it’s Yiheng? I’m mostly sure but it’s kinda hard to tell for 100% certainty that it’s him

Another good point! you are right. we could be taking this out of context! this is where we can't assume too much.No child wants to be slapped (but I do lol) but they have to get disciplined. Do we even know what yihenh did to get a slap?
To be completely honest, after a while u can grow a power to run and dodge the slaps.Another good point! you are right. we could be taking this out of context! this is where we can't assume too much.
This isn’t ancient China he isn’t getting murderedunfortunately, this is not the solution. the wca needs to keep in mind that any actions against the mother can affect Yiheng negatively. In asian culture, if the name of the family is disgraced by association with the child, the child is often murdered. Yiheng wang is not the only one in the world that has received this type of treatment. He'll manage.
edit: this post has received negative reaction. I apologize for improper clarification. please read following posts
this stuff happened only 50 years ago man. In the villages where nobody knew, In a country foreign to me and you. This isn’t ancient China he isn’t getting murdered

Exactly. It’s not uncommon at all in any Asian fam tbh even till nowadays, but this doesn’t mean that it’s the best way to teach their kids to be a good person in the future. As someone who actually knows YiHeng’s fam and also part of the Chinese cubing community in person, I would say that most of the time his mom is reasonable, and also feeling proud of YiHeng, especially within the Chinese cubing community. However, under certain circumstances her mom may sometimes go irrational and also kinda venting her emotions on YiHeng, which is not a great thing to see.Dang that’s so stupid. No kid should be punished for not solving a twisty puzzle fast enough. It was so sad to me to see a 9 year old child looking so sad and depressed.
Just because there is culture and tradition doesn’t mean it’s the right thing to do.
very cool that you are familiar with these people. And thanks for the observation. For me personally, I know that asian parents are very proud. almost to a fault sometimes. I know that deep down his parents probably jsut want him to be successful, and everyone does stupid stuff sometimes.Exactly. As from my observation:
YiHeng’s mom MBTI: ENFJ
YiHeng’s MBTI: ISTJ

sad but kids (and "adults") getting beat probably happens every dayI don't think it's that extreme...
and yet that is just more violenceI second this. From getting my @$$ slapped, I learned that it is wrong to kick another child in the face.
Ha! I wouldnt give a damn if I didn’t get dessert for 3 monthsand yet that is just more violence
they might have been able to teach you that lesson simply by depriving you of dessert for say 3 months
”yiheng wang doesn’t get WR, you won’t guess what happens next”Tangled cuber is going to make a video.![]()
Yes, she does, she actually asked me and my friends in clear English whether or not we filmed his solves back in Beaconhouse Malaysia Cube Open 2023. I feel quite bad for Yiheng, he DNF a pyraminx solve and +2d out of AsR 2x2 average in the same comp.I wasn’t trying to make fun of Yiheng’s mom beyond “don’t hit your kids, that’s bad” the graphic was just kinda meant for comedic effect. Also, there’s an almost 0% chance Yiheng or his mom will see my video, or care about it if they do. (Does Yiheng’s mom know English?) I’m not disagreeing that, if Yiheng’s mom were to see my video AND care, it’d suck for Yiheng, and I’d feel bad for that, but I feel like whatever Tangled Cubing (the guy who said Tymon was bullying Yiheng) would make a video 10x worse than mine could ever be.
A friend of mine has a picture but I won't post it for obvious reasons.I know this is kinda insensitie but can I see him flipping off the camera?
New Dhar Man x Yiheng Wang Collab Confirmed?”yiheng wang doesn’t get WR, you won’t guess what happens next”
You can’t take a a mother and child to court for the mother slapping a child. It is seen as a punishment and not a crime/abuse.this is going to be a really dumb and overexaggerating idea but, would taking to court help?
